Richard Evans, who tussled with Ryan O’Neal’s character on the ABC primetime soap Peyton Place and appeared in Dirty Little Billy, the final film from producer Jack L. Warner, has died. He was 86.

Evans died Oct. 2 of cancer on Whidbey Island in Washington state, a family spokesman announced.

Evans also co-starred in the Robert Mulligan-directed neo-noir crime drama The Nickel Ride (1974) and played the sidekick of George C. Scott’s artist character in Ernest Hemingway’s Islands in the Stream (1977), helmed by Franklin J. Schaffner.

Because of issues around the life rights of Joan Rivers, a limited series in which Kathryn Hahn would have played the legendary comedian isn’t moving forward.

The project, called “The Comeback Girl,” was announced last month in Variety. It had been in development at Showtime, and was to be produced by Warner Bros. Television, Atlas Entertainment and Berlanti Productions. Hahn was attached as its star and executive producer, and Greg Berlanti was going to direct and executive produce the series, which was based on a spec script by Cosmo Carlson.

Dave Chappelle has spoken out about the controversy over his Netflix special “The Closer” in a new stand-up video, saying that he is willing to meet with transgender Netflix employees or other members of the trans community, but won’t bend “to anybody’s demands.”

One of the suspects in connection with the death of Mac Miller has agreed to plead guilty in a federal court. According to the court documents obtained by E! News on Tuesday, Oct. 26, defendant Stephen Andrew Walter entered a plea agreement on Monday, Oct. 25. Walter will plead guilty to distribution of fentanyl at a Nov. 8 hearing. The documents additionally state that Walter instructed Ryan Reavis to give fentanyl "in the form of counterfeit oxycodone pills" to the third defendant, who prosecutors say was Miller's dealer Michael Pettit, on Sept. 4, 2018.
