Homerun Design Build
5.0
From start to finish Guy and his team at Homerun Design-Build were amazing. We had interviewed eight other contractors and were beginning to lose hope until we set up a consultation with Guy. After discussing our project and sitting down at our table, he provided us with a reasonable estimate on the spot. A few days later he presented us with a fabulous 3D design. The project was started as scheduled and Guy made sure that each phase was completed timely. His team was professional and courteous and arrived promptly at 8:00 am each morning. They were meticulous and paid attention to every detail. Most notably, Guy remained enthusiastic and engaged in making our vision come true. He was also very receptive to any change orders we requested and provided us with suggestions and recommendations. The quality of their work was so impressive that we added several additional areas to our kitchen remodel. We will most definitely be using Homerun Design-Build to remodel our bathrooms. For anyone searching for beautiful work at a competitive price look no further than Homerun Design-Build.

Mr Rinoldi, has done other work for me since the large job in 2006. A large Staircase 5 flights up had to be replaced and the job took a month. It was very nice job as usual. He has done foundation work for me that went well replacing part of the front of the Victorian Foundation.

Mark Hemenez General Contractor

Mark is a craftsman. I've used other window replacement suppliers, but they all reduced the window size considerably. Mark's approach takes a little more time, but maintains the "window geography". The arch he installed is a decorative detail that has a major impact in a small space. I've seen his kitchen remodels and wouldn't consider using anyone else to do my own.

Dave and his son Alon were great. They gave a fair price when we took bids and did not exceed that amount. They were always on time, cleaned up great each day, and accommodated our specific needs while we were living in the house during the project. Both are really nice guys and easy to talk to and work with. Dave has a ton of experience and his knowledge and scope of the work was great. The end product was high quality and looks great!!! We plan to work with them again in the future.

He did a very nice job. We bought the appliances ourselves, and we did the design work in the kitchen. He subcontracted out the cabinetmakers and the stone people. These were the people he had used before also. He and his crew built an addition onto the house the stairway that allows getting from the upstairs to downstairs without going outside. Overall, it went very well. They were very responsive and easy to work with. We made changes, and they had no problems with it. They made suggestions, and we made suggestions; it all turned out to be a very good deal. Our kitchen came out looking great. We had people looked at marveled at the difference, and they felt nice about our gallery style kitchen. He was aware of the cabinetmaker and the granite countertop guy. He subcontracted to purchase granite from another company, as there were the only one that had the granite we were looking for.

They did an excellent job! They were on time and very efficient. Mr. Balducci, the foreman, did a great job making sure everything was done properly the very fist time. He also offered me a very reasonable price for all the work that I had done. He went out of his way to make sure that I was happy, and spent extra time on my projects. I love my new deck and bathroom, they look beautiful! I would recommend Balducci Builders to anyone who is looking for remodeling or deck projects to be completed.

Bay Remodels
5.0
We are very satisfied with the work Bay Remodels did with our home. They made a big interior renovation of our house (kitchen, bathrooms, staircase and bedrooms) and also some exterior and landscaping work. From the beginning we were comfortable working with Arsen and his team. Home renovation is an difficult task and issues always arise. Arsen responded promptly and professionally each time. Our wants, needs and problems were heard and solved each step of the way. The thing that I appreciate the most about Bay Remodels is, there have been no surprises. We are so thankful that we found them. We already moved into our updated home a couple of weeks ago and are very happy to enjoy it. Our home came out exactly the way we wanted it. Thank you Bay Remodels! We highly recommend them!

We hired David Bar and his team to remodel our bathroom and kitchen, add a new closet under the staircase, put in new hardwood floor and tile on the first floor and some other tasks. His workers were very nice and respectful. I would like to think that we got along well. I didn't hear a single complaint from my neighbors about them and they are sensitive to parking issues because our shared driveway is so small. His workers also never gave us any attitude about redoing anything. And let me just say that if there was a website where contractors could rate their customers, I'm guessing my wife would get zero stars. Haha. Great experience overall. David was very responsive and did not shy away from difficult discussions. Would definitely hire again.

Sean Kelly Construction

We just made the decision not to go with him or go with somebody else. We got six bids all together and his bid was right in the middle. It's the area that we live in, it's an older house and the amount of work that we were having done. We ended up actually going with the cheapest bid, but not because it was the cheapest necessarily. Sean was in the running. He was one of the ones we were considering.

Overall BRR was a pleasure to work with. The project managers and contractors were extremely friendly, professional and attentive (and skilled!). This was my first renovation, so I would likely make some different choices if I did it again now that I have more knowledge (e.g. making sure that the subfloor was 100% level before laying a floating vinyl plank on it), but as a whole I am extremely happy with the outcome. The most impressive feat was the installation of the countertops. I live in a condo with narrow staircases so I was assuming they would have to be in multiple pieces, but the team came up with a creative solution to get the massive counters into my apartment and installed without having to cut them. They are seamless and gorgeous! I was also extremely impressed with the carpenter, Mike. He not only installed my kitchen cabinet doors, which was an intricate puzzle of ancient hinges, but he and his team built a storage cabinet for my parking space that is the envy of everyone in my complex. A simple thing, but very finely crafted. I ever have money again after this round of renovations, I will definitely hire BRR to work on my bathrooms!

Crowworks Construction

This is one of several jobs that he has done for us. He re-designed our upper deck by rotating a metal spiral staircase, vastly improving our access to the lower deck. He oversaw the refurbishing of over 2100 sq. ft. of our redwood decks, keeping in mind our budget for the project. He re-designed and built our back porch which now opens access to all of our garden. He replace all four of our toilets - access to the pipes was inconvenient - and an ordinary plumber would have taken twice as many hours to finish the task. And Crow hourly fee is 60% of what our plumber charges. Crow is fast, smart, reliable and I would always consult and hire him for creative work. The only downside, is: he is much demand. We had to wait nearly a year for him to be available to work for us the first time. I am so glad we did not give up on waiting for him!

Mike and John did a great job, and their workers are helpful and polite. The subcontractors whom they engaged for our project were punctual and did excellent work. Our old Richmond district house was sagging, and an engineer told us that we needed to build walls in our basement/garage area and replace much of the foundation. Since we would be going to great expense just to get this work done, we decided to add living space at the same time. After a year of working with our architect, engineers, and the City--and interviewing many contractors--we met Mike Nolan and John Lyng of MN Construction. We warned them that we were working with a limited budget, and they put together a realistic proposal. At our first meeting we were impressed by their friendliness and commitment to excellence. Importantly for us, both Mike and John are great with children. Our eight-year-old daughter took to them immediately, and the three of them developed a sweet friendship. This made things easier in a stressful time. The first part of the project was rough: demolition and excavation of the area downstairs. We could not afford to move out during construction, and the guys did their best to make the situation livable. I work at home, and they were careful to communicate with me about power and water shutoffs and the like. The work they did on the foundation was amazing. The houses are very close here in the Richmond, and they managed to build a solid foundation for us without affecting our neighbors. Quite a feat! We needed to be out of the house for about a month during the holidays, and that was very h****** our family. The guys worked through Christmas and New Years to get us back into our home a.s.a.p. When we needed to move back in, they did everything they could to carve out a livable space in our home. Mike and John are punctual and work to schedule, so it was challenging for them to work with a subcontractor who did not seem to share this concern. We wanted to have a radiant heating system installed, but Mike and John could not provide a subcontractor--so we found one on our own. The project would have been completed on schedule if we had not had the radiant system installed. (We love it, though, so it was worth the hassle.) During the next phase--finish work in the new bedroom, bathroom, and laundry--the guys could show their talent for detail work. Mike does beautiful tiling, and John's woodwork is magnificent. Guests to our home always comment on the gorgeous old-fashioned tile floor in our new bathroom and the beautiful design and finish work on our new stairs. We recommend Mike Nolan and John Lyng of MN Construction without reservation. We love our new home--and we didn't go bankrupt paying for it.

We did not end up using them because their schedule did not work out. They were unavailable. Our experience with them was special. Michael was interesting and extremely engaged. He answered some questions. I would have no concern hiring him, and I would have actually enjoyed working with him, but he was booked through March, and we started before that. He is absolutely a first-rate contractor. I think he has a credit through his craft. I would hope that I would work with him in the future. I think his price was fair, but with the other contractors we got, he was within $5,000. He was a touch on the higher side, but given the size and the scope, it was pretty competitive. When I asked him to give me something, he responded in two days. That was wonderful.

Z7 Team Powered By First Stop Construction
5.0
Joe and the Z7Builders crew did a wonderful job to remodel our house! We are thrilled and happy with the outcome. From our first meeting with Joe, we felt very comfortable with him and respected by him. He even fixed our bathroom light switch for free during his first estimate visit to our house. :) Compared to other contractors that we reached out to, Joe was not afraid to tackle some of the challenging tasks that we had throughout the house and that we originally started our plan with, even though they were not just the typical kitchen or bath remodel. As our comfort level with Joe grew, we expanded the scope of the work to include remodeling most of the interior of the house. One of Joe's biggest assets from our perspective is his resourcefulness and ability to come up with solutions despite challenges along the way. Here are some examples. Even though our underfloor was quite uneven, Joe and the team figured out how to lay our new tile seamlessly and evenly throughout it. To make our new staircase work, Joe used a special staining process that made the outcome both quite artistic and modern at the same time and we followed his recommendation to use solid oak wood steps for long-term durability. When bathroom exhaust fans that we ordered did not fit into the ceiling, Joe figured out an inventive way to make them work. Every house has its challenges and unexpected things that will come up during remodeling. Having a trusted and experienced contractor to address these challenges is an invaluable asset. Throughout the project, when the crew hit issues along the way, Joe never gave up and always found a way to make things work. Throughout the whole remodeling process, we always felt we could trust Joe to do thorough and high-quality work to reach the outcome that we were looking for. The only thing that we felt could have been done differently would have been for Joe to suggest to us that we move all of our items out of the house at the beginning of the project. Throughout the project, Joe and his crew had to spend quite a bit of time moving our items from room to room, which lengthened the duration of the project. But this should be easy to fix for anyone considering a large home remodel by moving things out of the house for temporary storage to help speed things up. Joe is very experienced, but also willing to listen to our specific demands, recommendations, and suggestions. At the same time, he's also not afraid to speak his mind based on his experience to help us understand how to make things work and last for a long time. He also gave us good suggestions on things that we haven't personally thought about, like adding a backsplash to our existing kitchen even though we didn't do kitchen remodeling during this remodeling project (he even gave us some money out of his pocket for the backsplash and offered to install it for free to persuade us to do it). Joe was also very flexible with the additional items that we added to the scope along the way. For example, we were very impressed with how well the crew laid the tile, installed lighting, and increased the opening to a very tight space under the staircase, adding a beautiful and functional new storage area to our house. Joe is also very responsive when we needed to talk or meet with him to discuss progress or make decisions along the way. Joe also went above and beyond to customize things for us. For example, we bought a media cabinet from IKEA that we wanted to put on the wall instead of sitting on the floor. The media cabinet looked nice and was within our price range, but didn't have venting or cabling setup in it. Joe spent many hours to customize the cabinet for us, carefully and patiently drilling holes in it to add ventilation and cable management features. He also came up with nice solutions to run media cables behind the wall that created a beautiful streamlined look, while fitting our budget and the peculiarities of our walls and support beams. Another important thing that we liked about working with Joe was his crew. They would always come in with a smile and positive energy, ready to work on our home. We love our new home and we would be happy to consider Joe and his crew for our future home remodeling projects. We have already highly recommended Joe to some of our neighbors and friends.

America's Dream HomeWorks
5.0
From start to finish, the America?s Dream Homeworks team was incredibly professional, helpful, and friendly. From the first day, Mark and John, our head contractors, would take the time to answer all our questions (in person, via phone, and via email) and walk us through each step of the remodel project. Our ADH construction team, Vlad, Vasily, and Peter were hardworking and responsible. They always took the time to clean up at the end of the day too. Lana managed our billing/account very smoothly. The entire team was very responsive to our questions and concerns. Our remodel project consisted of a complete kitchen remodel (demolition, electrical, plumbing, cabinetry, finishes), removing one wall between the kitchen and dining area, a full bathroom remodel (demolition, plumbing, electrical, finshes), re-carpeting one room, installing laminate wood on one staircase, and refinishing all the hardwood floors in our house. They completed the work on time and didn't try to fit in other small jobs between ours. The ADH team was very helpful with suggestions on materials and design elements for each project. In the kitchen, they installed Sensa granite countertops, Timberlake cabinetry, and Bedrosians floor tiles. In the bathroom, they installed Piedrafina marble shower walls and vanity countertop, Timberlake vanity cabinet, and Bedrosians floor tile. Everything looked great and we couldn't have asked for more. One thing that I appreciated about working with Mark and John is that there was no cost over-run. The quote at the beginning is exactly what we paid at the end of the project. I would suggest being certain and clear about what your vision is for the project and getting it documented in the contract. This being my first time doing a remodel, I realize that I was not as prepared with making decisions as I should have been. That said, ADH was very accommodating of change orders during the project and was very reasonable about pricing. This was definitely a pleasant experience all around. Thanks ADH!!

US Home Developers Inc
5.0
US Home Developers did a fantastic massive job on my house that needed a lot of work. The house was built in 1968, and has only had a few major repair jobs since. It looks great, but it's started falling apart. Since about 2005 it started getting bit worse; the paint on the walls started cracking more, the roof needed a bit of a repair, and the columns in front of the house needed a paint job. But that was just the exterior, the real work I wanted to get done was interior. See, we're a family that loves dogs, and we fostered over 13 dogs in the last decade and a half. But you can imagine with so many dogs, and kids, and just the over all aging of the house, it could use some major overhaul. We wanted to get new windows installed, because the ones we were using had a lot of drafts. The kitchen was practically begging to be redone, the stairs needed a rework, and we wanted to repaint all the rooms and fix up the bathrooms. In that regard I hired US Home Developers They presented an excellent 3D render of what I was expecting, and offered a really nice deal for the entire project. I was ready to sign with them instantly! They did as we went over, and the entire exterior of the house looks fantastic with it's new fresh plaster coat, and fixed roof. The columns were actually replaced, because during the process we discovered there was a minor terminate infestation. The interior job was excellent! we replaced the old carpeted staircase with it's iron railings and replaced it with wood. The hallway floors got new tiles, and the kitchen was completely modernized. The windows were replaced and already it's had a major impact on our heating bills. I was extremely happy with their job, and I would recommend them to everyone!

Daniel was SUPER responsive and communicative. When I received the estimate, it was much higher than I thought it would be. I thought that perhaps he had designed a very high end product and asked that he review his numbers. He went back and tried to lower the estimate, but found that due to the fact that it was handmade could not. He asked that I provide him feedback from other contractors' prices. I did not feel comfortable with the other contractors I called. I ended up going with Daniel because he was attentive, easy to work with, cared about the project and my experience with it. I was very happy that I did. The only potentially minor hickup was a $200 or $300 charge for a custom color. Because I didn't realize I had chosen a special product and was at the top of my budget, Daniel paid for the add-on. Daniel and Allen met all of their deadlines and I couldn't be happier with the product and experience.

Mick Velasquez was extremely responsive and supportive throughout a long and a bit stressful remodel. My husband, our dog and cat all moved into the 500 square foot apartment in the lower part of the house, while the remodel made chaos out of the top level. Mind you that this started three weeks after my knee was replaced in January. When the bathroom and Kitchen were basically but not completely finished, at the end of May, my husband had his knee replaced. Mick, his assistant Joel and all his sub contractors were amazingly supportive, flexible, courteous and communicative. They were super clean while doing messy work. The results were professional. When mistakes were made, ownership was taken of those mistakes and the errors corrected. Mick communicated with us and our designer on a daily basis, sending us summaries at the end of each day. We always knew what to expect and when. Mick has an artistic sense as well as being a good craftsman. And he thinks ahead and tries to avoid problems. This was impressive. He also kept us aware of the cost of everything and tried to keep those costs down, which we appreciated. The attention to details, always, made a difference in the end result. And we now have a completely new kitchen , bath, living and dining area with a very open peaceful feel. We love it!

I hired AKB for a very big job: the entire remodel of an historic 2600 sf two-story house. The job included engineering and design to allow expansion of the kitchen and suppression of a non-functional hallway, major foundation work, the complete replumbing and rewiring of the house, the gutting and remodeling of the kitchen and 3.5 bathrooms, installation of recessed lighting everywhere, construction of new closet space, new ducts, new water heater, installation of hardwood floors, restoration of an old fir staircase and old fir floors, repairs and replacement of non-functional door and window hardware, painting everywhere, removal of an obsolete heating system from the roof, earthwork to improve drainage, and many other things. A considerable fraction of the work represented more a restoration job than remodeling. I would say AKB did everything but the kitchen sink, except they did that too ! The final product was a wonderful house that will last yet another 100 years and that is more "historic" than when we started, because they were able to replicate historic features such as the wainscoting, baseboard trim, and window frames, transferring the designs from the oldest part of the house to the newer parts to give the appearance that all had all been constructed in the same era. The AKB workers showed great craftsmanship and pride in this restoration work and the quality was top notch. AKB provided a lot of good design ideas, and they readily accepted and implemented the ideas I had myself. AKB stood out compared to other contractors I have worked with by listening to me and doing what I wanted without wrangling. There were many unexpected issues that came up, as is normal for a remodel job, In addition, my wife and I changed our choices a number of times, and added new requests as the project progressed and we could better visualize the outcomes. The project was complicated by the fact I was often away on business during the remodeling time. Despite the complexity and my frequent absence from the work site, there was remarkably little miscommunication. The owner is a "hands-on" guy with great integrity, and I highly recommend him.

SOD Home Group

I did a massive search find the best contractor that can start and finish my remodeling project that I want to do and I’m very happy that I hired SOD builders. Oren from SOD builders was the contractor that came over and review my vision of my remodeling project and what I wanted to do. Oren was always on time, extremely knowledgeable, pleasant to talk to and he had awesome ideas. More than that, Oren always listened to what I wanted to do and then he always came back with better plans that ultimately included everything I want and made some suggestions for several things that I didn’t think about. Based on the current floor plans that I had, I hired Oren and SOD builders to do all the work at my house. I liked that I Oren assigned a project manager that was always there when I wanted to talk about my remodeling project and to help guide me through this process. Once I signed the contract with them, Oren came over with all the people that were working at my project to my house so we could go over the work in detail. It was fantastic to have their experience in order to help bring to life my vision and make sure they each knew what was expected of them. The project included the following:- rebuild the kitchen- build all the cabinets- Redesign the kitchen walls- Build a new wall- Replace the old floor with beautiful new hardwood floor- Installing new baseboards and Crown moldings- Repair & paint all the staircase- Paint the entire house including all the patching of all the cracks- Paint the ceilings. They absolutely did a great job. All the workers showed me how professional they are. I must mention that this was my first massive remodeling project, there were so many things that I even didn't think about or have any knowledge to what needed to be done. For instance the electrician suggested to move the light switch to a different location in the kitchen and it made a perfect sense once he explained to me what will be the benefits for that. SOD builders finished the project earlier than we planned originally which made me extremely happy! We agreed to a certain budget and Oren didn’t go over that amount. After the work was completed, I noticed for few things that needed adjustment and Oren sent his guys right away and they took care of all of them. I would hire them again for sure for any work that I will need. I love my new home! It makes me so happy to cook in my new kitchen and to have friends over to show off my beautiful home.
