Reviews of Septic Tank Repair Companies Near You

Live Oak Painting

Another outfit claimed we needed a whole new septic system. Eric from Analy Septic came out, did an inspection, and said the eixisting system could be fixed for less than half the cost of a new system. The job was done quickly, and they worked around my schedule. Analy Septic is a local business with 3 generations working there. I met all three family members, and were impressed with their honesty, work ethic, and willingness to repair, rather than replace. They get my highest recommendation.

NORTH BAY SEPTIC SVC

Great experience. They were hired to locate the existing leach lines for a future construction project. In the process they discovered broken boxes and other problems. But because they were so calm and competent and professional, we never freaked out as they kept digging up more and more of our property. They fixed everything in a timely manner and put everything back as it was. They gave us advice on keeping our septic tank healthy and working. These guys work hard, are friendly and inexpensive. Treat them well!

Alpha Plumbing & Rooter Service

The only problem we had and they fixed it and they were very conscientious about it, the driver hit back into a fence along our tennis court and then pulled a little bit and they came, rooter rooter came up and fixed it, so they were attentive to us and it was a difficult backing situation and I don't really blame them and they fixed it so in a way it's kind of a good sign because they were conscientious about it, they make a mistake they fixed it. They pump the septic tank pretty straight forward they pumped it out and drove away, he had to come back and do a second one.

The tank was thoroughly emptied on both sides. I was shown how the concrete tank had a small issue, and told how to repair it myself.

E-Z Plumbing & Trenchless Sewer, Drain Cleaning

It was a toss up between them and the other company. They showed up on time to give the quote. The other company was less expensive to fix the pipes under the house. They were very nice, but also very knowledgeable. They gave us the quote right at that time.

DOMCO PLUMBING INC

Everything was done well. The only reason I did not give them a 5 all around is when I called I had described several problems I needed help with but when they came out it turned out they did not do one service, requiring I go to another vendor to get everything I wanted done.

P&R Septic Systems

The owner was not friendly. He brought in heavy equipment and dug up shrubs and a huge hole...which we never authorized...we only authorized him pumping the tank. He left all the shrubs he dug up in the carport for us to dispose of...he would not do it. He showed up at our property manager's office and wanted to know when he could start the job. He was very pushy and not a pleasant or friendly man.

These guys did a great job. Showed up when they said they would. Did the work in a timely manner. Cleaned and repaired leach lines. Workers were courteous and kept me informed on the problems and what to expect. Fair pricing. I would definitely use these guys in the future and would recommend them to others for similar work.

It went very well. Creativity was required, and applied successfully. When one worker didn't do acceptable work, he was removed from the job and replaced with another worker who did very well.

They were realy good. He really had a good assessment of what was wrong and how much it was going to cost. He did it in a timely manner. He said he would have it done in 3-4 hours and he did. The prices were competitive with everyone else.

John Gleason's Plumbing
5.0
i had a clogged toilet which was backing up into my bathtub and caused some other minor flooding. I had to turn the water off to the entire house. I called my plumber who couldn't come for another 3 days and 4 other local plumbers who were all busy. I looked up John's plumbing on Angie's list and called them, and they came out that day. They came in the 2-hour period they told me they would come. The guys they sent out were very nice and snaked the toilet which fixed the problem. They answered all my questions and were respectful and kind. They checked the plumbing under the house and made recommendations to keep the problem from happening again. They were there when I needed them, and they did a great job.

AFFORDABLE SEPTIC & EXCAVATING

It went great. I can highly recommend Affordable! Being a new homeowner I was so worried about who, what and where on home repairs. This team showed up when they said they would, they were professional and took time to explain what was going to happen. They were very inventive when solving access problems to my tank location. The price came in at what they bid and they were done so quickly. They had to take part of my fence down and they put it back up so you'd never know it was done. My yard looks better after they finished instead of worse. I'd hire them again anytime.

Allstar Plumbing

So I wake up one morning and the flush just wouldn’t flush.. like water would fill up but not flush. So I called All Star Plumbing and spoke to a Kevin who was very understanding considering I was irritated over this issue early in the morning.. he told me someone was already working in the area and would be able to come by in a couple hours.. on arrival the plumber told me the septic pipes were clogged and would take about an hour or so to find the issue and fix it.. about 20 minutes in he comes back to tell me the issue was bigger than expected and might take longer than expected I appreciated him following up with me on that. Compared to other places I called All Star gave me the best price quote from however I could describe my issue over the phone. On arrival Javier was very Respectful and Personable which was nice because I live on my own.. and True to the quote my bill was very reasonable.

Septic System Repair Near You

Septic systems are mostly reliable, performing their quiet work around the clock. Failure of a septic system is not only unpleasant, it is unhealthy and potentially dangerous. A homeowner can look for a few danger signals that septic system repair is needed.

Common Septic System Repair Problems

Backups

A backup in a septic system occurs when a slow or clogged system forces sewer water (blackwater) back up through pipes into sinks, tubs and toilets. The blackwater is foul-smelling and unhealthy.

A telltale warning sign of future backups is a gurgling sound in sinks or toilets. Angie's List provides some quick tips on simple maintenance you can do to keep your septic system clean, green and healthy.

Clogs

An errant toy flushed down a toilet by an experimenting toddler; feminine hygiene products, hair, kitchen scraps — all can cause clogs that prevent or slow wastewater from entering the septic system.

More subtle trouble can go down the drain, too. Avoid trying to flush or pour any of these clog-inducers down your toilet or sinks:

  • Oil
  • Grease
  • Cotton
  • Diapers
  • Gauze
  • Cigarette butts
  • Paint, varnish, or garage chemicals

Clogs can be sudden or build up over time. Unfortunately, many people never notice a kitchen clog progressively slowing down a kitchen drain, for example, until the sink just stops draining completely.

Tree Roots

Leaky or sweating pipes will attract tree roots, which can grow and enter septic pipes. These roots follow the moisture, growing along the pipe until the fill or burst it further. Professional septic system repair involves using cutting blades on a rotating auger to clear the roots.

Sometimes, septic system repair services can run a new, flexible pipe inside the existing pipe, ignoring damage and holes created by the tree roots.

Damaged Lines

If you have dug around in your back yard and accidentally hit a pipe, you may be the cause of a damaged septic system line. Third party vendors — contractors installing a swing set, landscaping services digging flower beds, or television cable installers — may also inadvertently break your septic system's pipes.

Many homeowners fail to realize leach field pipes extend far beyond the settling tank, so damage to pipes can happen many yards away from your home.

The only complete solution for this sort of damage is to dig out and replace the damaged pipes.

Unpleasant Odors

Odors of raw sewage permeating your living space are clear signs of septic system problems. The pipes beneath your sink are designed to keep a little water in the P-trap, preventing sewer gases from entering. Similarly, your toilet has a reservoir of water in the bowl for the same reason.

When sewer gases enter your home, your septic system has a clog preventing sewer gases from moving out to your settling tank or beyond, to your septic field.

Alarms

Many septic systems feature alarms, from blinking lights to noisy buzzers, to alert you that something is not right. If your septic system's alarms go off regularly or intermittently, you have a problem that needs quick action by professionals.

Solutions to Septic System Problems

A fast solution to some septic system malfunctions is to have the settling tank pumped of waste. As Angie's List has recommended, getting the system cleaned every few years is a smart investment, saving expensive emergency service calls.

A plumber equipped with a power auger can eliminate tree roots. When searching for a plumber or specialty service, verify some basics:

  • State license
  • Liability and workers compensation insurance
  • Familiarity with septic systems similar to yours
  • Testimonials or customer reviews
  • A contracting company that uses its own crews, rather than day laborers
