Technician knew exactly what the problem was and completed the task in a short amount of time. He was very professional. This service is part of a home warranty purchased through Sears. Cost is $40/month to cover a number of appliances (stove, oven, wash/dry, microwave, etc.). In this case, it was $80 to fix the microwave.

When my microwave went out, I, as usual, went to Angie's List. I read the reviews for RO Appliance and decided that this was the one I wanted, especially since they were so close to my home. Raymond came out on the day that we agreed upon--on time--and diagnosed my problem as the magnetron, capacitor, and diode. It did take some time for the parts to come in, but when they did, he came right out and replaced the defective parts. My microwave works just as it did before it stopped working. There is no question in my mind that I would call RO if I needed appliance service.

They were an amazing company. They were very honest with us and did a very good job on my microwave. They can repair any small appliance. I have used them several times in the past and they have been able to fix anything. They are so exceptional I just can't say enough good about them.

When Sears came out to look at my microwave they were great. It wouldn't work so the guy took the whole panel off and what ever he did fixed it. He knew exactly what he was doing, showed up on time, he was very polite and I will always use Sears. The products are the best and the warranties are great. My microwave cost around six hundred dollars, but the warranty was included.

Great. Tech found a thermocouple was bad and replaced it. Tech had to order and come back a few days later, all for the original quoted price.

Excellent. Home Depot would not install the microwave because a bolt needed to go where a support board was. Richard came prepared with some wood that he was able to use to make the installation. Richard had to insert a few additional boards to make it all secure. He was creative and very efficient. Polite, neat, considerate. A great find!

Our microwave and the exhaust fan over the cooking range had given away with both not functioning. We called the AHS warranty company with whom we have a warranty. They fowarded the request to a company in East Bay who paid us a visit prompty to check on the issue. They fixed an appointment for another day and promptly fixed the microwave wherein the switch was faulty. The exhaust fan motor had to be replaced and so they ordered the parts for us. This took some time and we had to constantly follow up on this request as they kept saying that the part is not yet received. Later they found the part and fixed another appointment for the same and was got fixed promptly. Thank you to AHS. Now our microwave and exhaust fan both are functioning very well.

Great! Ace Appliance was helpful and courteous on the phone, and even managed to get the repair person out sooner than anticipated, which was helpful since we use the microwave for so many things throughout the day.

Removal and installation took roughly an hour. Installer kept area protected (marble counter, range) and reasonably clean. Phone communication was also excellent: gave 4-hour time window night before, called 10 minutes before arriving, and arrived 1 hour into the time window. Price was reasonable ($125). Work went well --- everything's working great 1 week in. Would recommend.

I called first and he asked for details over the phone to make sure that he thought he could fix them. I took them in and he was able to complete the work in just 24 hours. Very professional and efficient. I was so glad to not just throw them away, but actually fix them.

The man from Sears came out to fix my treadmill which had a loose part on it, so all he had to do was tighten it up and it works great now. He also looked at my microwave that had a small crack in the door. He used a tester for radiation, which it tested ok but he couldn't find the crack in the door and I couldn't either when he was here, but after he left, I found it. He did a good job, was on time, polite, and friendly. Sears always gives me good service and I can trust them. I paid seven hundred dollars for a five-year service contract for a microwave, stove, dishwasher, and treadmill but it is well worth the money.

Everything was great. I chose him because he was less expensive than hiring an appliance repairman. He is very punctual, he does a great job, and he is very nice to work with.

My interaction with the technician was good. He knew exactly what the problem was and was able to fix it right away. He also answered a few other questions about some other appliances. I would definitely recommend them. I have nothing to compare their price with, but I know that you pay a lot to have your appliances repaired or replaced. I think it was pretty fair. I wasn’t shocked when they gave me the price. The quality of the work was good. It took them about a week to get out to me since it was around the holidays, but it was worth the wait. I could live without my microwave for a week, but I did have to wait for the technician to come out.

They arrived to evaluate as scheduled, were polite, clean and prompt. The parts were ordered and they repaired the unit quickly, and responded to my scheduled needs.

Although this project was not a disaster, the quality of Philip's work was disappointing. The cabinetry (a very simple job with just two trimmed panels) looked like a 6th grade shop project. There is a crooked splice in the middle of EVERY span of molding - and no span is more than 3 feet long! I suspect he spliced extensively to make up for inability to miter properly. The damper and an additional cover on the Vent-a-Hood did not get installed. I found the cover in the packaging in my garage, but suspect he discarded the damper. (He also discarded all the manuals and installation guides). I ordered a replacement and he promised several times to come out and install it, never doing so. On the plus side, my job was rather small and it was not easy to find people to take on a $1200 project when they could be doing a $60,000 new kitchen in Los Altos. Hint: The best contractors take the $60,000 jobs and leave the small fiddly jobs for people like Philip.

In both cases, our repairman arrived at the appointed time, was very professional, and most importantly, extremely knowledgeable about the appliances. My husband handled the microwave repair and said he had it fixed faster than he expected it to be. When he came for the oven repair, he had determined the problem in less than 20 minutes and let me know he had to order a part. He thought it might take a week or two to get it, so imagine my surprise when they called two days later to schedule an appointment because it had arrived! He came back at the appointed time and had it fixed in about 10 minutes. There was no payment until the repair was done, as per their procedures. Also, he went above and beyond because I asked him about our clothes dryer and how it seemed to have lost heat. He checked it for me at no charge (I wanted to pay him!) and determined everything was ok. An interesting side note: our glass cooktop shorted before our oven went out. We called Ace but they were booked and could not get to us soon enough. So we went with another Angie's List provider that had a good rating. Two repairmen came out, determined what the problem was, and ordered a part. When they came out to install the new part, they had ordered the wrong one. They did provide excellent customer service by immediately going to a supply house, purchasing the correct part, and fixing it an hour later but they just didn't seem as knowledgeable as Ace. We will be calling Ace for all our appliance repairs!

So I called J&H yesterday and they said it probably WAS the Magnetron and quoted me a price of $175.00 on the spot for the part. I took it in to their shop, got a call 3 hours later with a quote for the new Magnetron ($203.00... what???). So a little higher than they quoted me on the phone, but the labor was only 40 bucks, so I can't really complain. People gotta make a living. The important thing here is that they are going to fix and get it back to us, fast. Probably 4 day turnaround (part will be there in 2-3 days). So that's great. I did not realize how much we use our Microwave until it was gone. So far, I'm very impressed with the service and the price, and will definitely use them again.
