Bay Easy Construction
He was great. They provided a lot of ideas for how to improve the space. They got everything done in four days. The owner was very involved; he checked in multiple times and even called me a few times to make sure the work was to my satisfaction. I am actually having them out within the next month or so to repair roof.

Strong Built Construction
I was needing to finish remodeling my bathroom, which had been started a few months earlier, quickly in order to refinance my condo. Andrew of Strongbuilt Construction was very accommodating in terms of starting and finishing the project quickly, keeping the cost low, and doing quality work. I felt his communication during the project (both listening and speaking) was well done. He kept me thoroughly informed every step of the way and clearly answered any questions or concerns I had. The actual work on the small bathroom was well done. He gave me some design suggestions that turned out really nice and listened to what I wanted done on the project. He was willing to do added work if it came up. His attention to detail and thoughtfulness on the project is greatly appreciated. The end result was a beautiful bathroom which got a higher than expected appraisal value because of the upgrades and quality of work. The appraiser was very impressed with the work. I'm very happy with the entire project and I would recommend Andrew to family and friends. (I've already recommended him to my upstairs neighbor who has a bathroom remodeling project in the works.)

Style & Structure, INC
NEVER PROVIDED ANY IDEAS OF HIS OWN. JUST SAID THAT WHAT WE SUGGESTED SOUNDED OK. NEVER PROVIDED DRAWING OR 3D RENDERING AS PROMISED. FINALLY A FEW DAYS LATER EMAILED ESTIMATE THAT WAS SO HIGH, IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT HE DID NOT WANT THE JOB.

BWH Builder Inc
Bo is excellent. He is meticulous, professional, and always keeps the customer's happiness in mind. He manages his team well. They even came to work overtime on the weekends to get the project completed very close to the promise date, despite the setbacks in the project due to the house being old with lurking problems. A last minute addition to the project was to knock out a wall between the dining room and living room. He didn't balk and gave me a reasonable price and a structural engineer to create the right plan for how to redistribute the load. Bo worked with the city office to approve all the plans. Bo always kept costs for the customers in mind. He is practical and fair. He's also a friendly person and very responsive. His team does good work, although I wouldn't say they are craftsmen. As a customer, I needed to question a few details and push back on some of the finishing work in order to get the quality I wanted. But I felt Bo was always on my side. We got what we wanted. It's been over a year, and things are holding up well. I still love the new kitchen and bathroom.

Strong Built Construction
The bottom line: We would absolutely contact Andrew and use Strong Built again! We also recommend Strong Built without any reservation. Our rating says it all. Here are additional comments re: Andrew and his team that really set him apart (not captured in the ratings): - Andrew was very respectful of our home. He and his assistant always made sure our hardwood floor and carpet were protected. The job site was cleaned up after each day to the extent that we felt comfortable living there while the construction went on (and we had young children). - Andrew is an excellent communicator. He listened and executed based what we needed and wanted, within our budget, and by highly professional standard. At appropriate times, he offered his expertise and asked clarifying questions to meet our needs. He is pleasant to talk to and work with. During the construction, he would alert us if surprises came up that involved design change or other adjustments to make sure we felt comfortable before he proceeded. He talked *with* us. He did not talk *at* us or *down to us.* Whenever we had questions, he made sure we understood what he was doing. He also communicated well with other contractors (e.g., our granite fabricators who were not the best communicators) - Andrew has a high level of integrity. This was demonstrated by Andrew staying within his quoted estimate (except for minor adjustments made by us). He did not underbid in order to get the job. He bid and delivered high quality products within budget. We felt we could trust Andrew in our home and making changes to our home, on our dime. - Andrew and his assistant work well together. Andrew's assistant is happy and diligent working with him. This was important to us, for both humanitarian and practical reasons. Whenever Andrew was off-site, we felt equally comfortable communicating with his assistant and knowing he was working diligently on the job. - Andrew goes the extra mile. We had a very tight timeline that at times did not seem possible. Andrew went the extra miles and made it possible. - Andrew respected our pocket book. Andrew's bid was not the lowest. But we were glad we hired him to do the job. Whenever possible, he presented options and recommended the most cost-effective solutions--not the most expensive, not whatever that's easiest for him, but the most bang-for-the-buck solution (knowing that was our priority). - Andrew follows through and highly values customer satisfaction. After the job was completed and he got paid in full, he came back at no additional charge to add a small, cosmetic feature upon our request. He did not have to do this but the fact he did says a lot about how much he values and delivers customer satisfaction. - Andrew came highly recommended. Our experience was consistent with 2 other references provided by Andrew. Summary: Andrew exceeded our expectations on all accounts.

HOWARD LAMCKE
I searched hard for true professional contractor, who would be able to deliver high quality services on schedule and offering maximum flexibility without crossing budget lines. I am very pleased with the high quality of work and with the efficiency this contractor handled the projects in my house. Howard has always been flexible in negotiations and the work scope, candid and reasonable in his estimates, knowledgeable and professional. And finally, very punctual in delivering high quality products and services. With his help, we were able to remodel two bathrooms without crossing our budget limits and without any delays.

Next Stage Design + Build
I requested a free estimate for finishing a bathroom remodel. The company was very responsive in getting back to me and scheduling an appointment and the man who came to my house was very nice and professional. The quote is for a bathtub demo and new bathtub install as well as the tile surround demo and retiling, plumbing, and putting in a window (which I already have.) The floor, toilet, and vanity have already been done. The tub area is small (approximately 3' x 6 ' insize). The quote was for $13,500 -$14,500 and does not include painting! This quote is almost 3 times the other estimates I received. In addition, I asked them about a 230 sq foot addition to my home that I have architectual drawings for. I only requested a "ball park" range and was given a range of $155,000-$192,000! This is for 230 sq feet which is more than $675-$800 per square foot and again is 3 times as much as other estimates I received. Unbelievable. I understood that their quotes might be higher than others but find the above ranges to be so completely out of range as to be ridiculous. I just felt that other members of Angie's list should know about this estimate because had I known that their numbers would be so extremely high, I would not have wasted either my time or theirs getting an estimate from them.

It was a challenging time to undertake this project between COVID, engineering errors (not the builder), labor shortages, and the price of lumber. I would not say it was easy, but the end result is a very well built, comfortable, attractive, and energy efficient living space. I learned a lot from this project and provided feedback to the contractor about what I didn't know about the process when we began and what others would benefit from. One key item is a clear list of what the "finishing" materials are and a schedule indicating when these materials are needed. I recommend that anyone working on a building project of this intensity insist upon a detailed list as part of the contract and in advance of the work beginning. Since our work was done, this contractor has hired two additional people to focus on those types of needs. The people performing the labor were always polite, friendly and respectful of masking and social distancing. We felt comfortable with them around our home. One thing that could have been better is more orderly disposal of materials and separation of recyclable and non-recyclable items.
