Perfect landscaping has done a pretty good job managing my lawn.  I like that they have many different kinds of services from which to choose, so I can adjust the lawn care according to my pocketbook each year.  Mulching and leaf clean up are extremely expensive, but everything else is far.  Also, they offer top dressing, which I haven't seen elsewhere.

Synlawn performed a 2300 sq ft turf installation for a non-profit private club. We were happy with their performance.

My neighbor and I use him yearly. We are both satisfied that he has improved the appearance of our lawn. He has been responsive and responsible. He is courteous and very business like.

Ultimately we went with another company to do the turf in our small backyard. In all the interactions we had with these folks, they just didn't seem that interested in our business. As we had several rounds of back and forth questions, the customer service got worse. After an initial estimate, we made a visit to the store to look at a few turf samples after letting the owner know we were going to drop by. The person at the store couldn't answer any of our basic questions about how the samples differed and when we asked them to follow up with some answers, we never heard from them again.

Crooks!! Please do not be lured into using this unlicensed, unprofessional company because of their low prices and false advertising. We learned the hard way: "If the price is too good to be true, it probably is." Sean Ryals came out and gave us a surprisingly reasonable estimate for renovating our front and back yards and putting down sod. He was quick to cash our deposit, but virtually unresponsive after that. We have had to call every day from different phone numbers to reach him. He made so many promises to be there the next day, which usually meant he would send some unskilled laborer out to poke around for half an hour. He tore up our existing yard and never laid down the sod. Needless to say, our dirt yard quickly drew complaints from neighbors and the Home Owners Association. We had to hire another company to complete the project and never received our deposit back. We will be taking him to court. Very little information is available about this company online, but if you look up "Cutting Edge" Landscaping, his previous company, you will find a slew of terrible reviews that led to this contractor's license being revoked. Please avoid this scam artist!

After a minor disagreement in January regarding use of a winter discount coupon which we settled in my favor, the J & J crew made it out to my house in early March and did a splendid job installing my new lawn and brick I left for them to be used as a hardscape liner between the lawn and the fence. I now have a beautiful new lawn for which I'm extremely pleased. I only wish J & J Landscaping had a page on its website dedicated to providing information on caring for a brand-new lawn, when and how much to water it, etc. I had to be proactive get the information I needed, but if I hadn't of asked, the information wasn't readily available.

The result, a kidney shaped green with a hump and tier for 2 cups. It came out far better than anticipated. Neighbors already planning friday night golf and beer!

We are so pleased with our experience with Green Team.  Chris and his team were efficient and got the job done swiftly.  Green Team's quote was less than half of some of the other quotes I received.  Their work was A+ and they were very accommodating to our requests.  I will use them again for future projects as well as tell all my friends and neighbors about them.

The crew did an outstanding job. They had to excavate around irrigation pipes and outdoor lighting wires. They dug about 4" deep and removed all sod and soil. They laid landscape cloth and then stones with a perimeter of stone dust. The entire area was regraded for perfect drainage. The stones and dust were tamped down to provide a secure surface. The crew cleaned up  perfectly and left everything in order. They were very careful to avoid damaging any existing landscaping or hardscape surfaces.

We have a transformed lawn now, without resorting to turf. Bill is congenial, knowledgeable, entusiastic about his work, and reliable. I have no hesitation recommending him for large landscape projects.

Our back yard had a great transformation. You can really see the difference in the areas that filled in this spring with grass (which is 75% of the back yard). There were terrible bare spots from our dogs and lack of real dirt in the yard and now there is a green sea of grass. We are very pleased and are thankful for the wonderful job that Yard Enhancement Services performed. The crew was very professional and hardworking. David checked in with us to make sure everything was going well and the job was completed to our satisfaction. We would definitely recommend them and use them again.

I dealt with Jim Cambell initially who assigned me to Josh Franklin. Josh was terrific. Patiently answered all our questions about the artificial turf installation and brought us to see an installation in Georgetown. Just prior to the installation date, Josh left the company but promised that Jim Campbell would oversee the job. Prior to his leaving, Josh brought the foreman to our property to review the scope of the project. On installation day, the crew arrived on time, worked very carefully (challenge of underground wiring and irrigation) and cleaned up perfectly. We couldn't be more pleased with the job - planning, execution, customer service. Recently, we needed to contact Jim with a question about adjusting a corner of the turf to accommodate new stone work. We called Jim who was incredibly helpful on the phone and gave us all the information we needed for successful adjustment.

Over the winter of 2014 we moved into a single family home in northern VA with a good sized lawn and hedges / bed areas. Due to work / travel schedule we knew we would need to look to a landscaping company to refresh the look of the property and provide regular turf management. In years past I had used a patchwork of different providers on different seasons at our previous residence (also Northern VA), and wanted to find one company that could do all the components under one contract. I contacted four different companies to provide estimates. In looking at the estimates, it seemed to me that J and J had really looked at the property, and made good recommendations for work based on our property, type of hedges and trees, and current condition of the lawn and bed areas. Some of the other estimates looked more cookie cutter, and in communicating with the various providers over phone / email I further got the sense that J and J had provided and estimate that best matched the needs of the property. So far, J and J has competed a Spring Cleanup consisting of weed and leaf removal, pruning, mulching, and establishing a dug edge to define turf from bed areas. They are also mowing weekly and operating a fertilization / weed control schedule. The Spring Cleanup was a good sized job, and we are really happy with the results. Their crew was out for three days at our property and did an outstanding job. They hand-dug the edge area between the turf and bed areas, and it looks great. The pruning and mulching has made a big improvement on the hedges / shrubs. I have had the opportunity to communicate with Mr. Jones, their operations manager who completed the estimate and has been the primary point of contact, Mr. Derrington, who founded J and J, and the crew who came to our home to do the Spring Cleanup. They have all been knowledgeable, responsive, and professional. Mr. Jones in particular has been really helpful in setting up the work specific to the needs of the property. If you are looking for a comprehensive landscaping company that can do regular mowing, a fertilization / weeding program, and landscaping, and want to support a local northern VA business, from our experience we 100% recommend J and J.

My family was very happy with the services provided by Superior Landscaping. At first our project started out small but as my wife and I became more appreciative of Troy and his honest feedback and recommendations, we expanded the scope to include more services. 1.) Installation of french drain - We started with just a french drain to address standing water issues in our front and side yards. Superior installed a "horseshoe" french drain the surrounded both sides of the house and backyard, draining water from the gutters, sump pump and yard to the street. After 1+ month since the french drain was installed we've noticed a tremendous improvement with the usability of our yard after a heavy rainfall. No more soggy/muddy spots. The materials used and dimensions for the trench seemed very good to allow for the needed drainage. 2.) Installation of Patio and Retaining Walls/Garden Edging - We expanded the project to gain more usable space in our backyard with the addition of a patio and retaining wall. The work involved excavation of areas around an existing deck to create a flat and usable patio for entertaining. It allowed us a nice space to place a firepit, chairs and also an area where our children can play. With the patio a retaining wall was installed that also has the height to serve as a sitting area. This was expanded the other garden beds in the front and back of the house. The craftsmanship of the work was top notch. 3.) With all the excavation required, we included the installation of sod to our back yard and part of our side yards. Proper compost soil and very fresh sod were laid down. A month later the grass looks amazing! All garden beds were also mulched and trees were trimmed to allow for more sunlight in the backyard.

The turf manager, Bill, is knowledgable, attentive, and responsive. He comes out personally to analyze the soil, listen to our objectives, and discuss options to reach a mutual understanding of the program to implement. When we moved to this property several years ago, there was no grass, just weeds, on almost an acre. At the same time, we got the property certified as a wildlife sanctuary, which means we are trying to minimize chemical treatments. Bill put together a solution that took care of the weeds and restored our front lawn within one season and advised us how to convert the back yard to a woodland garden that blends naturally and asthetically with the surrounding woods. In the succeeding seasons, he has helped us significantly cut down on the fertiziler, herbicide and pesticide treatments while nurishing the front lawn with more organic treatments to maintain our curb appeal. At the same time, our monthly cost decreased. We've used their landscape service once, and the designer was equally attentive and responsive to our goal of a more naturalized yet still sophisticated and tidy look. In summary, State of the Art is easy to get ahold of, works to meet our requirements, and offers a reasonable price; they don't try to just sell you stuff you don't need or want.

They came out and gave us an estimate when we called. They were very good and very professional about giving it to us in writing. They knew what they were doing, and they have done it before for sure. There were very fairly priced and very knowledgeable about what they were doing. It's a family business that they have been doing forever. They were very understanding of the fact that people had budgets that they had to stay within. I would absolutely consider them to do additional work in our home.

I have been a well satisfied customer of Meadows Farms Nurseries/Landscaping for a number of years, and I continue to be so. Robert Monastra and his crew did a terrific job taking my overgrown side area and making it look terrific. They did a great job! HEMAX came and made a reasonable proposal, which we signed.   We failed to notice that the proposal did not include re-sodding the entire front lawn.    So we called HEMAX and they had this resolved within a week.   And they did excellent work. We have a small yard, yet they made us feel like an important client!

OK for the lawn, except they showed up unannounced, causing a serious problem since we still had a tree to remove.
