The pump was fine; the pump basket had fractured and debris had gone though and clogged the entrance to the pump. All it needed was a good cleaning out, and a new pump basket.

DUBLIN POOL AND SPA WERE VERY HELPFUL. BEFORE THEY JUST REPLACED THE PUMP, THEY SENT SOMEONE OUT TO LOOK AT THE SYSTEM TO SEE IF IT WOULD BE MORE COST EFFECTIVE TO REPAIR IT. THEY KNOW A LOT ABOUT SEVERAL PUMP SYSTEMS. THEY HAVE A GREAT STAFF THAT IS PROFESSIONAL.

I hadn't operated my spa for about four years and they came out and first thought that the pump had broken down. The guy who did the job decided to check a bit further and he made special efforts and found out that it was just a bad switch. The switch cost me just $30 as opposed to $500 for changing the pump. Someone else could have said that it was the pump at fault and replaced it. They are very forthright and thorough.

LESLIE'S SWIMMING POOL SUPPLIES

I bought the pump online from Leslie's with the intention of installing it myself. Changed my mind, decided I didn't want to spend my Christmas break trying to install it. I first called another company that had done work previously on our pool, but since I didn't buy the pump from them, they would not do the work. I called Leslie's 800# for pool service on Monday morning. The cost to install the pump was $240 labor, $30 materials, $20 trip charge. Technician arrived on schedule Thursday morning, took about an hour to do the job. Job included cutting out the supply and return pipes, running new electrical wire from the wall box to the pump, and plumbing in piping. Maybe not a big deal, but the pump takes 2 inch pipe, and my set up was only 1.5 inch, so he had to add in adapters. Once he had the pump running, he walked me through the set up, and before he left, reminded me that there is a PG&E rebate available.

Extremely well. Paul is to be commended for his initiative and thoroughness in going beyond my specific problem to fix and maintain the booster pump as well. He carefully examines anything that is wrong and fixes only what is needed as well. Now we have much better water flow overall. Not only did he fix the booster pump, but he also applied much needed coats of paint to the rusty booster pump cover and the rusty electrical boxes! No pool service or repairman has ever done that for us. It's a small thing, but it will make all the components last longer overall!

My pool pump and motor had stopped working. I called Paul, who came by to have a look. He used some diagnostic tools and determined the motor was not functioning at its full capacity ( 2 horsepower) he said the pump was fine. He said it would cost 350 dollars parts and labor to repair total. He ordered a new motor and returned a few days later and installed it in one hour. He mentioned there was a minor leak in a hose adjacent to the pump and took care of that also and no additional charge.

LaBella's Pool Service

Marc and Paul are AWESOME! Let me tell you, I looked around for someone to install my new Pentair Variable Speed Pool Pump. Most of the retail stores such as Pool Time, etc. would not just do the installation, and neither would several other pool contractors. They wanted ME to pay a total of $1,600 for this. They would not do the job unless they also procured the pump, thereby jacking the price way up for me to pay. What a rip off! But then, I discovered the LaBella brothers. They were in touch with me every step of the way as to which specific pump to buy (they even ENCOURAGE their clients to buy online and save $$$). So I bought the pump online for $818 with no sales tax and no shipping costs, and with the PGand E rebate of $100 that I'm about to receive that makes it a cost of $718 for the pump. LaBella charged me a totally reasonable price of $149 for the parts and labor for the installation. Paul installed it and I watched him do it from start to finish. Boy, can he install a pool pump! He explained the entire process to me, he programmed it according to my specs, and I'm about to save a LOT of money on my energy bill. My last pool pump was a 1.5HP and a total energy hog. One other pool contractor (who would not just do the install and wanted to charge me $1600) also tried to steer me to another total energy hog that was a 5HP pump. Boy, I am SO HAPPY I found LaBella's Pool Service. And you know what? Now they have a very happy client, and whenever I decide to hire a pool service (my husband cleans the pool right now), I know who I'm going to call. I've even started to spread the word to my neighbors. So, all you other contractors out there who want to gouge your clients, well, forget about me ever calling you!

Sterling Pool was able to diagnose the problem and then replace the pump professionally within few days after we first contacted them for our serious pool issue, while other service providers would have scheduled a much later date.

I got a quick response and Armando sent his people to check the site first. He gave me two options and once I decided his people came the site removed the old one. The next day Armando came and installed the new one even it was raining. As a follow up, he called and came again to set the mode to meet my needs. Great service!

RICK WAS RESPONSIVE, EFFICIENT. HE THOROUGHLY TESTED FOR POSSIBLE LEAKS IN THE PIPES TO DETERMINE THAT IT WAS THE MOTOR PUMP THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND WAS WILLING TO WORK WITH ME TO COME TO A COMPETITIVE PRICE.

Rick contacted me quickly and came by for initial trouble shooting of pool cleaner problem and a leaking pipe attached to the pool heater. He ran a bit late but fixed the problem on the spot only charging the minimum fee for the visit to make up for running slightly late. This was followed up by work on the pool pumps that had problems including a leak on the main pump. The work was completed in a few days (parts to be ordered) and all the equipment is now working perfectly.

They were very professional, but the poured concrete over some of our coping. They were very responsive, but I was a little upset that the heater pump sides were pressed in when moving it and so it has spots that show. This only included installation, but a new electric box had to be installed. I also thought the price was high.

Our pool is aged. The fiber glass is wearing out. The pumps were 20 years old. The skimmer had not had a weir or a float valve in years. As new owners to the home we did not know what was missing only that the system was out of date and not doing a good job. There was algae haze on the walls and dirt on the bottom. The existing pool cleaning service did not have the know how to understand the systemic failures. I searched through Angie's List and went for the best rated Sterling Pools and Supplies. An appointment was made for the next day and Eric expertly walked me though the failing issues regarding the pool structure, poor build design, missing parts, and pumps. By the following Monday Sergio had installed up-to-date variable speed pumps, new weir, float valve, and cleaned the pool sparkling. The system is so quiet I can't hear it start up at 5:00 a.m. The pool will need to be resurfaced after our California drought but Sterling extended its life, made it beautiful for its age, and well educated its owners. We are very pleased with Sterling for their professional know how, spirit of service, and friendly demeanor. We have referred their service to our family members. Also, the cleaning service tests the pool water weekly, adds the proper chemicals to keep it safe and clear, and does not use guesstimate chlorine tabs. The costs for the pumps was on target for my estimate and the weekly cleaning service is equally competitive.

They responded to our message promptly and arranged to come out the next day. Jeff tested all the equipment to see if it could be repaired rather than having to be replaced. We appreciated the fact that he didn't try to sell us parts that weren't needed as other companies we have tried have done. He is totally trustworthy and we were very comfortable having him work at the house.
