3 pros!
Design an impressive foyer that both wows your guests and invites them inside.
It is often said that first impressions make the most impact. This is true not only when you meet a person for the first time, but it's also true when you first step into new surroundings.
The front door and foyer of your home should set the tone for the rest of the house. Whether your entrance is small or large, you can utilize these interior design tricks to make it grand.

Front doors with windows
Let’s start at the front door, which can include sidelights (windows on each side of the door) and transoms (windows over the door). These doors can be as beautiful as they are functional.
Glass is a key component in these entry systems; Consider a leaded glass design, which will help create your guest’s first impressions.
Anchor your entry
Stepping into your home, let’s anchor your entry first with a colorful area rug. Although the size and shape of your foyer must be considered, in most entrances a round shape will look the best. This makes the entry look more inviting, and will add color and softness.
For larger foyers, a round or octagonal table on top of your vivid carpet centers your entry. Glass top tables with an interesting wrought iron base is a good choice, since the transparency of the table takes up less esthetic space and shows off your carpet.
For that final dramatic effect, display a floral arrangement that adds height to the foyer and will lead the eye upwards to a sparkling chandelier hanging over the floral arrangement.
Add an upholstered bench
For practical and decorative reasons, a bench will add a lived-in and comfortable feel to your entrance. Pick up a color that you like from the carpet and get coordinating fabric to cover the bench.
Your staircase in your foyer is also a natural focal point for an entry. Decorative iron or wood banisters will add a lot of style to the entrance.
Using a runner carpet on your staircase is not only practical as it prevents slips and protects your stairs, but it also makes your stairs elegant and inviting. Pick a runner that coordinates with your center round area rug. Pattern borders on the runner create that special finished look.
Maximize space with mirrors
Don’t forget to reflect the beauty you created in your foyer by multiplying it in a large mirror with an opulent frame. Floor mirrors also work well — if you have a large space and no children.
If you have a console table, place it under the mirror and top it with crystal candlesticks and beautiful artifacts that will show in the mirror. Grouping and layering is a rich way of displaying your accessories.
Consider using artwork on your entry walls as this will create interest. This is especially important for two-story foyers, where you should place the artwork high up on walls so your eye goes up.
A well-designed entryway will provide a lasting impression of you and your home. No matter what size and shape the entrance of your house may be, you can make it grand, warm and inviting.
