Edit Thumb not working

Since NextGEN Gallery updated to 3.3.10, I have been unable to edit thumbnails. The overlay window that appears says “Select the area for the thumbnail from the picture below.” but the picture is to the RIGHT and an area cannot be selected.
I have tested it in Firefox (79.0), Chrome (84.0.4147.125) and Safari (12.1.2).
I am running WordPress 5.5 on MacOS 10.12.6.

I am having the same problem.
I also have tested it in Firefox (79.0), Chrome (84.0.4147.125)
I am running WordPress 5.5 on Windows 10 64-bit, on two different computers.

Similar problem
I get the page, where the thumbnails gallery should be displayed with a blank text saying
[Invalid short code]

The fix was, first downgrading to 3 3 6, then edit the page, delete the old short code and add a new one.
Somehow it worked for me, even though the link on the live page “show slideshow” is still glitched.

Hi everyone,

We have verified and it looks like a valid problem that we have reported for our developers. This one will have a high priority and I am pretty sure that the fix will get included in the next NGG update.

In case that you want to roll back to the previous version of NextGen Gallery, you can download it from https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/nextgen-gallery.3.3.6.zip then go to your site’s “Dashboard -> Plugins”, deactivate and delete the current version of NextGgen Gallery ( this is a safe procedure and you will not lose any galleries or settings ) then install and activate nextgen-gallery.3.3.6.zip

I can confirm that NextGEN Gallery 3.3.11 has fixed the “Edit thumb” bug. Thanks @mihaiimagely and developers.

Hello,

I think this is still happening? I’m using Version 3.4.7 and if I try to edit image thumbnail, there is a modal opening but nothing else loading.

Do you guys have a fix for this as well?

I have 3.11 installed and I’m not able to edit thumbs.

Just checked again. I’m on 3.11 now and editing thumbnails works just fine.
