About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and data-driven media professional to help build and be a part of a world-class media team. The Assistant Media Negotiator will play an integral role supporting the offline buying media team and will work closely with the rest of the buying team to  purchase TV (Linear & Streaming) and Radio (Podcast & Streaming). This role will be based out of New York City.

What you'll do:

  • Assisting Senior Negotiator in buying across all offline media
  • Negotiate, purchase, maintain, and steward video media buys, focusing on Direct Response TV
  • Gather rates, construct media buys in MediaOcean buying system, and send schedules
  • Serve as market expert, providing insight to the marketplace conditions and opportunities in specific markets or media outlets
  • Ongoing communication with sales representatives to promote strong relationships and negotiate to maintain or improve the buys
  • Implement revisions to the buys as directed by campaign performance
  • Maintain confirmation of purchase, schedules, budgets, and reconciliation of network billing
  • Meet all due dates for buys, post analyses, and assigned projects
  • Contacting television networks for logs, as well as quarterly rates and deal delivery
  • Responsible for pre and post log entry in MediaOcean and internal documents
  • Handling credit requests and management invoice discrepancies with accounting team
  • Sending and tracking Cable TV schedules, revisions and responding to network vendor requests in a timely manner
  • Work closely with Supervisor to organize workflow and help team set up project deadlines to achieve all timelines

Who you are:

  • At least 1- 3 year(s) of media buying, preferably working fast-paced media agency, negotiating TV dayparts, specifically Direct Response TV, upfront TV, and OTT
  • Proven success working on client with large TV media budgets with high performance expectations
  • Deep knowledge of media buying concepts: GRPs, Net/Gross, Reach, Frequency, Impressions, ADUs, Upfront, Scatter, Direct Response Media, etc
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
  • Analytical mindset with attention to details
  • Highly collaborative
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated & takes initiative
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with MediaOcean software (Prisma, MBOX) preferred
