Hi, I installed Jetpack Boost and activated the buttons… But on the screen, where it writes “Calculating score…”, it waits a while, then there is an error note on the screen saying:

    “Whoops, something went wrong
Couldn’t get the site score Retry
Your site’s REST API does not seem to be accessible. Jetpack Boost requires access to your REST API in order to receive site performance scores. Please make sure that your site’s REST API is active and accessible, and try again.”

What does this mean? What is REST API? I searched google and found an online “REST API online Test” website. I wrote my domain there and it seems like there is no problem with the REST API (whatever it is). Why can’t the tool show my mobile and desktop scores and show that error text?

    Hi there

Jetpack Boost requires the REST API to be enabled on your site. The WordPress REST API provides an interface for applications to interact with your WordPress site by sending and receiving data as JSON objects.

You can find more information on it here:
    https://kinsta.com/blog/wordpress-rest-api/

If you continue to have trouble, please refer to the Jetpack Boost documentation, and if that doesn’t help, start a new thread in the Jetpack Boost forum, and include your site URL so that the support team there can run some tests on your site.

Actually I checked the link you sent in your reply and found out that it is not an easy-fix task for an amateur. It is a looong read… And a lot of coding directions etc. So I find it risky to mess with my site’s coding just to make your plugin work… By the way, the plugin caused some Css problems ian incompatibilities with some other fatal plugins in my site, so I decided to delete it completely. Thanks for the reply anyway.

@uckunb Understood. If you decide to try Boost again and need further help, please post in the Jetpack Boost forum so you can get the help you need there. Thanks!
