To be honest, I think it's easy when we see people saying and doing fucked up things, to underrate the force of loneliness, grief, and desperation, and overrate reasoning and language.

Taking another break, but don't worry. I will get to everyone. And a reminder that I am doing this to draw attention to fact that Myers Briggs has an extremely troubling origin story and should NEVER be used for hiring decisions or the like. 💖

"The science is unequivocal; a global increase of 1.5C above the pre-industrial average and the continued loss of biodiversity risk catastrophic harm to health that will be impossible to reverse." Over 200 health journals call for urgent climate action.

I've never chained myself to anything but doesn't have a very logical point? We are in a global climate emergency due to carbon emissions so why should banks fund projects that generate more?

Q: Why say "ensemble"? Just use the proper name "Mob Programming!" Is this just PC run amok? A: I needed a term to encompass Pair Programming, Mob Programming, and Swarming. That it's inoffensive is a very nice and welcome bonus (worth it).

Awful the floods in NY. Sorry to hear the reporting centred around how to make basements etc safe for future. Good ppl realised climate events are going to become more commonplace & want to keep folks safe. Sad there was NO mention of how to stop it getting considerably worse.

We need to talk about . No, I don’t mean a nuclear reactor tunnelling through the Earth, but the constant use of “yeah, but China” as an excuse for failing to prevent climate breakdown. Thread/

Sunrise today celebrates the dawn of my first day as a full-time writer. A year's career break lies ahead, something I've been dreaming of... So...got a project you're putting together? A conference, convention, anthology? Know of any calls or opportunities? Get in touch!

I’m struggling with the tech industry at the moment - it’s hard to remember a job I have had that didn’t involve helping rich people make even more money or helping companies to engage in biggering. Even in public sector. Tell me some happy tech stuff you have been involved in.

Seeing way to much uncritical positive media coverage for a project aiming to collect 10,000 autistic people’s DNA. The aim is to find ways to identify us… maybe before we’re born. This has a huge risk of being misused. We’d never tolerate it for an other minority :(

Would love to fill these spots. I know these covid days are extra hard, and there will be scholarship slots in future classes. But mentioning again, in case the timing and career dev things line up for the September dates.
