THREAD: Where are we in UK with cases, where are we going and should we care? TLDR: nowhere good, somewhere worse, absolutely yes. 1/24 (yes, I know, another long one. Still worth a read I hope!)

Wonderful parable about quantity over quality when trying something new. It's not that quantity is the goal - it's that it actually produces higher quality to iterate fast.

Most successful founders care about fixing the specific problem their startup was created to solve. What's unusual about the Collisons is their global focus. They care about Progress with a capital P. Which is all the more impressive considering how unfashionable that is now.

Some parents in China now face a dilemma: If I teach my children about the truth of the CCP and to think independently, they will grow up to be outcast in the society; but if I let them believe the propaganda taught in school, I feel I fail as a parent.

A lot of successful founders care about making the world better once they become successful and start to feel a sense of responsibility. The Collison brothers already felt that way before they started Stripe.

When I was in high school, I dreamed of a world where people wanted to spend all day arguing about philosophy, politics, and economics. Now we're here, and I was wrong. Wrong!

We're big believers in multi-year infrastructure bets. After a few years of Ruby infra work, our in-house Ruby compiler is now 22–170% faster than Ruby's default implementation for Stripe's production API traffic. If interested in working on such problems, we're hiring!
