Your Learning Experience On-Demand

Our inspirational academics lead the way in their fields, pursuing new thinking, finding new solutions and having a remarkable impact on the world.

Did you know, for example, our pioneering people helped develop rapid testing for Ebola, are researching ice sheets to predict how sea levels might rise, and are helping to make the fashion industry more sustainable?

Our on campus open day events will help you discover how Northumbria is leading the way in your subject, by meeting some of the academics you might be taught by and hearing from current students about their experiences. You’ll gain an insight into your chosen subject’s department and will be able to explore the facilities available, as well as our wider campus.

Through our engaging and interactive digital platform NU World, you can explore on-demand video content about your subject area. You’ll be able to see in-depth content about our courses, watch our researchers talk about their ground-breaking discoveries, as well as exploring our facilities through virtual tours.

Your Home Events

Attending our Your Home events means we can show you more about the place you’ll call home. Through our engaging and interactive digital platform NU World, you’ll gain an insight into our accommodation options, as well as exploring virtual tours of our campus.

As part of the event, you’ll also be able to connect to our accommodation team through our live panel, which explores the different options for living on campus.

Our panel will be able to answer your questions and provide you with clarity about which accommodation is best for you.

You’ll also be able to explore videos to learn more about why Newcastle is consistently voted the Best Student City in the UK.

Your Wellbeing Events

At Northumbria University, we want you to enjoy your university experience and Your Wellbeing is an essential part of this.

Here at Northumbria, we have a range of support available for our students to ensure you make the most of your time here. These include Counselling and Mental Health support, Disability and Dyslexia support, Academic and Financial support, as well as Physical Health support. In this event, you can familiarise yourself with these services and how you can best utilise what’s on offer to enhance Your Wellbeing.

Join this event and meet specialist advisors from our student support teams, who will be on hand to answer your questions. You will also be able to watch a range of video content centred around Your Wellbeing.

Your Community Events

When you join a university, you also become part of a vibrant community.

Whether you want to join a society and meet new people, take part in our Sport clubs, or just find out what life in Newcastle is like - this virtual session will show you everything there is to know about the Northumbria community.

Our Your Community live panel will allow you to interact with Student Union reps and current students. You’ll hear about our clubs and societies, as well as other opportunities to get involved with the community during your time at university. Our panel will be on hand to answer your questions.

You will also be able to explore our in-depth video content, giving you a broad flavour of what’s on offer.

From volunteering to student media, there’s something for everybody here at Northumbria.

Your Future Events

Coming to university can transform your life. And at Northumbria everything we do is centred around helping you get where you want to be.

Our Your Future events will help you discover how Northumbria puts your employability first, by meeting staff from our careers department, as well as hearing from current students about their experience.

You’ll be able to ask key questions about how Northumbria prepares you for a future career and learn about our placement and study abroad opportunities. Many of our students get the chance to put their learning into action with live projects for real organisations, so you’ll be able to see what types of placements are on offer specific to your interests.

Through our engaging and interactive digital platform NU World, you’ll be able to see in-depth video content about careers and employability, watch our students chat about their placement experiences.

Your Money Events

Getting a degree is an investment in your future.

Our Your Money events will help you navigate your options for funding your studies, as well as connecting with our special advisors who will be able to answer your questions. You will find out about student loans available for undergraduate study, as well as any scholarships we might have available.

Through our engaging and interactive digital platform NU World, you’ll be able to see in-depth video content about financing your degree, watch our students chat about their experiences and discover more about making the most of your money while at university.
