Cincinnati Fireplace Remodel

We found Bromwells to be very professional. Todd Glacken was our sales representative. He oversaw all the stages of our fireplace remodel. He helped us with the new design, managed the installation of the stone work and followed up with some touch up work to be sure we were completely satisfied with the results. We are very pleased with our new fireplace and we would recommend this company to anyone looking for this kind of work.

They provided me with a new set of fireplace logs to replace the ones that were completely wore out. ?I had been told by many other companies who do fireplaces, that I would need to replace my whole fire[place as the logs were not available for my fireplace, which is a direct vent, natural gas, fireplace. ?Obviously those providers were more interested in me paying a hug amount for a new fireplace!

They came out to give us a quote, and explained the difference between the types of fireplace inserts available; helping us to choose the one that meets our needs the most. The techs were very careful to not let our cats out of the house while they were working on the removal of the old fireplace, and they were also very good about moving all of our furniture out of the way. The install worked well, and we can't wait for the first cool night to use our new fireplace.

Desired a new fireplace door for an updated look. Decided on a Thermo-Rite trackless glass door with a textured black finish. Purchased door plus installation from Karl Mattes Co. Installers worked quickly and efficiently to remove the old door and install the new one. It looks great!

We had a new fireplace installed but we needed to finish the raised hearth and the wall surrounding it. Using a slate slab I had picked out at Mees, Don listened to what I was envisioning, drew up the design and then came back again to discuss the design to be sure everything was what I wanted. He then had the stone cut to his specifications to insure decorative characteristics of the stone would be located in the right places when completed. When Don came to install the slate and later returned to grout and finish the fireplace surround, he took care to make sure that when he finished, the area was clean. It was a pleasure to work with someone who had an artistic sense when designing the look I was trying to achieve. He strives to turn out quality work and satisfy his clients.

Todd at the Bromwell's store was great to work with prior to purchase. Showed us many inserts, talked about the pros and cons, etc. Todd and Bromwell's just inspired more confidence in us than another company we were considering. JT, the installer, was great to work with and did an excellent job. We are very happy with the quality of the insert we chose, and the whole interaction with Bromwell's during the installation.

We are pleased with the work and price we were given. Two chimneys were tuck pointed with color matched mortar and water sealed, the crowns were repaired, and they replaced loose and broken firebrick a new fireplace floor. The workers were professional and courteous. They did the work in two days, cleaning up after themselves each day. The job price was $2150, very competitive to other quotes we were given.

I called in August and the designer came to my house soon after. She took some measurements and asked for my input. A couple weeks later she emailed me a design concept and a bid. After I accepted, the builder came to the house a few weeks later and he took accurate measurements and we spoke about specifics of the design and stain color. Two months later, he sent a photo of the finished mantle and we set up a day/time for installation. The workers arrived early (they called to let me know) and in a few hours we had our new fireplace mantle. I could not be happier. Very high quality work!!!

We bought a house that did not have a fireplace and wanted one built on this vaulted empty wall. After shopping at the store and talking with Todd, who came out to look at our place, we got a quote within a week. After agreeing to the work, we sent in our down payment. The crew came out when expected with a truck load of materials. The framing of the fireplace took about a week. The gas line then had to be installed and the propane company came out to do their part. JT did a great job hooking up the fireplace and doing the roof work. The stone work was a long job. Bill carefully cut each piece and it turned out beautifully! The crew was very polite and tried to keep our home as clean as possible. Cardboard was laid on the hardwood flooring and runners to/from the doors. Each night Bill cleaned up the work area. My only complaints would be that the stone work took longer to complete than estimated (a month, instead of a week). The other was that all the materials were stored in our garage and I didn't have a place for my car for 2 months. We are very happy with our fireplace as it is now the focal point of our room. It was good to have a fire this long, cold winter. The workmanship is outstanding and we've had many compliments. We would definitely recommend Bromwell's. Since last summer, two issues have come up and Bromwell's has fixed them both. Thanks again.

We are very pleased with the new fireplace. There were a few minor issues with the intallation that were promptly corrected. An accent light cover needed to be replaced and the insert developed some instability in the flame that made it unuseable for a few days, both were corrected. The installers worked hard to free up a seized gad valve in the floor that would have cost us $500 to repair had they not worked to free it. Overall I thought that the price of the gas insert was a little high but it is clearly very good quality and provides ample heat for this small basement room.
