The Illinois State Police just told @axios Chicago that Crimo's father co-signed for his FOID card that he received even after threatening to kill his family and having his weapons confiscated. @pksmid all of which was reported to the ISP.

Ok, this is not actually a subpoena. It's a certificate of materiality.
All this does is ask an out of state court to issue a subpoena if it finds that it would not be overly burdensome.
A determined litigant can stretch this out for a long time.

For my followers in other places, Highland Park is a generally sleepy and peaceful suburb 25 miles north of Chicago. It’s the scene of many movies including Ferris Beuller’s Day Off, Risky Business, Home Alone because it looks like a classic American suburb/city. Pop 31,000.
