Youth changing lives
and communities
through radio

What we do

The Children’s Radio Foundation trains youth across Africa as radio reporters, giving them the tools and skills to make their voices heard. They ignite important conversations and gain leadership experience to last a lifetime.
Speaking in local languages and in a youth-friendly style, they interview community members, host debates, and bring out local perspectives on the issues that are impacting their lives.

With 68 project sites across 5 countries, 748 active youth reporters reach 9.7 million listeners each week.

Our radio broadcasts present new opportunities to youth and build pathways for them to strengthen communities. We are training and mentoring a new generation of broadcasters and thought leaders across Africa. They build their confidence, develop communication skills, think critically, and work together to tackle issues in their communities.
