FAST. PRIVATE. SAFE.
Keep what’s personal private without sacrificing speed. With Firefox, you can have more control to decide what to share online and when, because your life is your business. We designed Firefox with smart browsing features that let you take your privacy, passwords, and bookmarks with you safely wherever you go.

MAKE FIREFOX YOUR OWN
With the release of iOS 14, you can now make Firefox your go-to, get-it-done, default browser. And with Firefox widgets, you can jump right to searching the web or using private browsing mode straight from your phone’s home screen.

PRIVACY CONTROL IN ALL THE RIGHT PLACES
Firefox gives you greater privacy protection while you’re on the web. By default, Firefox blocks trackers and scripts such as social media trackers, cross-site cookie trackers, cryptominers and fingerprinters. In addition to Apple’s Intelligent Tracking Prevention, setting Firefox’s Enhanced Tracking Protection to strict blocks tracking content in all windows. Also, you can easily choose to search in Private Browsing Mode. And when you close Private Browsing Mode, your browsing history and any cookies are automatically erased from your device.

OWN YOUR LIFE WHEREVER YOU INTERNET
Add Firefox across your devices for secure, seamless browsing. Sync your devices to take your favorite bookmarks, saved logins and browsing history wherever you go. Send open tabs between mobile and desktop. And Firefox makes password management easy by remembering your passwords across devices. Take your internet life everywhere, knowing that your data is safe, never sold.

FIND IT FAST WITH FIREFOX’S SEARCH BAR
Get search suggestions in the Search Bar and quickly access the sites you visit most. Type in your search question, and get suggested and previously searched results across your favorite search engines.

ORGANIZE YOUR TABS THE WAY YOU LIKE
Create as many tabs as you like without losing track. Firefox displays your open tabs as thumbnails and numbered tabs, making it easy to find what you want quickly.

DISCOVER MORE OF WHAT YOU LOVE
Find and share great content across your devices. Open a new tab in your web browser to see the sites you visit most, your recent bookmarks and popular articles on Pocket. Firefox gives you quick access to your most recently used sites to help you get where you’re going fast, without hassle.

SHARE ANYTHING IN A FEW TAPS
The Firefox web browser makes it easy to share links to web pages or specific items on a page with easy, quick access to your most recently used apps.

Still only 4 stars until.

I want to know why Firefox on the iOS does not allow the same add ons I have on my PC browser. Things like add blockers that prevent the trash google throws at you all the time, and anyone else, are needed. My blockers work with Safari, and I can decide who can and cannot dump rubbish on me while using a site. Privacy is only as good as what you can control, and who you can prevent trying to screw you. I know there are thousands who say “I have nothing to hide”, but they miss the point. All those they allow to spy on them, gives the likes of google, Microsoft etc., etc., more power to take away your freedom. Your right is to privacy, not the other way round.

Bookmarks need a serious overhaul.

Firstly, thanks for the extremely detailed and lengthy ‘What’s New’. It’s great to know exactly what has been updated - so many apps don’t bother to tell us!😡. I haven’t tried the new sync feature as I don’t have a Firefox login but I’m sure plenty of users will appreciate it. It’s great Firefox offers privacy features and the option to delete browser data. Other 3rd party browsers don’t offer this. It’s annoying they’re buried under too many menus though. The main problem with Firefox is the lack of bookmarks organisation. Bookmarks simply appear in a list in the order you bookmarked them. There’s no option to use folders, reorder or edit the website name. Until this has been improved, this will remain a very frustrating omission and the main reason Firefox can’t be used as a main browser.

One thing from Safari I find essential is the forward feature (square with arrow icon). From there I can send web pages to friends/family via messages or email, print, save as pdf, add to reading list plus a few others. Firefox has nothing like this.

Bookmarks no issue! Good private browser!

I’ve always loved FF and the way they focus on our privacy. I see the app has really low ratings due to people complaining about bookmarks and saying the can only see their “recent bookmarks”. Although this is true when you first click on bookmarks, but soon after clicking on your “bookmarks menu” should show you all your bookmarks in the order they appear on your PC browser. Unless this was an issue on previous versions only, I don’t see it as any issue. Holding the back and forward buttons shows the previous pages you have visited also.

For added privacy, I recommend changing the Google search engine to DuckDuckGo from the settings. Use Tutanota or ProtonMail for your email provider and you’ll have managed to deGoogle your life and take back your right to privacy. Otherwise we can all just be a spy statistic for companies like Cambridge Analytica.
