    Personal take, but many people have heard me say it. is one of the most strategically important assets on the planet right now.

    GitHub for $7.5 billion by Microsoft in my mind still goes down as one of the cheapest, highest value acquisitions of all time. Absolutely incredible steal, especially in light of the IPO today (also on that list is Instagram at $1B and YouTube for $1.65B).

    In which expresses the general exasperation many of us feel with the disconnect between regulators understanding of cloud, massively overly inflated expectations from some vendors and reality. Essential reading.

    Multicloud failover is complex and costly to the point of nearly almost always being impractical, and it's not an especially effective way to address cloud resilience risks.

    This. The topic is very interesting, but the point about intellectual flexibility is so important.

    having the intellectual flexibility to change a firmly held opinion - particularly one originally informed by a seeming David v Goliath contest - is very difficult to do. being candid about that change of heart in public that much more so. most impressive.
