Organizations of all sizes that need an antivirus system

About Malwarebytes

Crushes cyberthreats. Restores confidence. Traditional antivirus simply doesn't cut it anymore. Malwarebytes crushes the latest threats before others even recognize they exist. We block viruses, malware, malicious websites, ransomware, and hackers that traditional antivirus isn't smart enough to stop. Our cutting-edge protection and response solutions are used by organizations of all sizes around the world. Traditional antivirus fails because it’s slow to react to new threats. And, well, because it’s “dumb.? We use layers of technology like anomaly detection (a cool sort of artificial intelligence), behavior matching, and application hardening to crush malware that hasn’t even been seen before. Alright, so not really like traditional antivirus.

Pros: Helps you prevent viruses and helps you get rid of the ones you might already have. It has great detection and doesn't bog down your PC.

Cons: It constantly tries to upsell you on the premium version.

Overall: Great piece of added protection for your computer. Been using it for years and never had a problem with it.

    "Security guaranteed under flexible policies"

    Posted 2021-06-29

Pros: It is a successful software, which is at the forefront of security and control of applications so that there are no virus or hacker leaks in the system. Its interface is simple; it has few but exact tools. The price is incredible; it is not expensive. For every new file that enters our platform, the software takes care of scanning it and identifying any problem.

Cons: The support is terrible, there is no way to communicate with an expert in any circumstance, but luckily the program is intuitive.

Overall: We are using it to look at new files, invoices, and projects infected with viruses or malware. We are more confident, and security is robust as a fundamental basis in our departments. Malwarebytes is essential and effective for the company. You will have the opportunity to be more secure and be a little more consistent with your security implementation.

"Ultimate solution to enforce security and protection standards"

    Posted 2021-04-22

Pros: Our company has seen the acquisition and implementation of Malwarebytes as an ultimate solution against enemy threats from malware to ransomware. I liked the practical form of protection it provides for our files and computers in general, as well as its user-friendly interface and ease of use.

Cons: Malwarebytes has been quite beneficial to our workgroup. Depending on your computer, it tends to slow down a bit due to the resources it takes up during operation.

Overall: This software has helped us to significantly strengthen our security standards to protect our digital resources and files of utmost importance to our organization from external threats, which has been of great benefit to us, also generates report where you can see when threats have been found and eliminated over time. Its price is right, considering how excellent it is at detecting and removing threats and solving cybersecurity problems.

    "Never understood its popularity"

    Posted 2020-11-10

Pros: It's got a free version and it's easy to use. If you have basically no non-default programs downloaded to your computer, it'll probably work alright. I really don't have anything else positive to say about it other than that.

Cons: Every few years, I give this program another go after tons and tons of recs about how it's so much better than this or that, and every time, I'm deleting it the same day again for the same reason. This thing is so sensitive it thinks nearly anything is malware, including itself sometimes! Here are a list of other programs this thing has decided are malware: Evernote, Notepad++, Rainmeter, all Iobit products, pretty much any other malware detecting products out there, Microsoft Edge once, Discord, all Abode products, Firefox, Chrome, Skype, the default sticky note program on Windows, various art software, and naturally, itself. Meanwhile, it never finds whatever the issue is on the computer while other malware protection easily does. I'm baffled. It's like I'm somehow using a completely different program than everyone else because I've never gotten the amazing results everyone raves about.

Overall: I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, honestly. There's much better out there. I often wonder if it only gets recommended everywhere is because people just don't thoroughly test anything else out there. It doesn't make sense to me. Be prepared for half the things you downloaded, or possibly even default things on your computer, to randomly be flagged as malware while the actual malware is missed entirely. I would recommend trying literally anything else. To this day, I am astonished that on more than one occasion it labeled its own self as malware.

    "Intuitive and not intrusive!"

    Posted 2020-07-16

Pros: The UI is just so clean and the color scheme is so reassuring. And it runs nicely in the background and is pretty small, so you don't really notice a drag on your system like Windows Defender threads sometimes cause.

Cons: Using the free version, you do have to wonder if you're missing out, if the scans aren't as comprehensive...

Overall: I installed it on both my Mac and my Windows computers and it works great with both. It does sometimes prompt you to upgrade to the paid version but it isn't annoying like WinRar.

"Malware/Ransomware Protection for Self and Small Business"

    Posted 2020-06-28

Pros: Malwarebytes is easy to install and runs actively in the background without using a lot of resources. In addition, the software has an on demand scanner which is helpful for scanning downloaded files. The software also has active website monitoring/blocking.

Cons: The interface is a little confusing and sometimes we get false positives that blocks sites that are safe.

Overall: We've been impressed with Malwarebytes. While some professionals say that malware and antivirus protection isn't needed, we are taking no chances with malware or ransomware. The cost per year is cheap if you look at the potential for lost time, productivity and data if you become infected. While I might be "aware" of what I'm clicking on, I'm not so confident an employee or one of my kids couldn't be targeted with an infected phishing scam/malware.

    "Malwarebytes - Review"

    Posted 2020-06-08

Pros: (+) Easy to use, straight forward installation setup and a very good interface.
(+) Detects most of the malicious and ransomware related content on the computer or laptop.
(+) Very fast and dynamic search for malware content.
(+) Available as a free trial product.
(+) It can work parallel with other anti-virus software.

Cons: (-) No protection from real-time threats in the free version.
(-) The cost of the product is not very user friendly.
(-) Not up to the mark in cases of unknown threats and ransomware threats.

Overall: I have used the free version of malware bytes quite a few times for a one time clean up when there is a suspicion. It worked quite well and was able to detect the threats and remove them successfully. Though the free version does not provide real-time protection for your system a one time clean up is really useful.

It's a definite recommendation in case of free product, the premium version is completely a factor of pricing and other products in the market.

    Remote Support.
    Regular definition updates.
    Free version available for trial.
    Lightweight compared to alternatives.

Overall: MalwareByes, although named as just a malware removal tool, provides excellent virus protection.
