One month after the federal disaster declaration for the remnants of Hurricane Ida, more than $175.8 million in federal funds have been provided to New Jersey to aid in their recovery.

As eligible disaster survivors start to receive funds for rental assistance, home repairs, or other categories of assistance, be assured federal disaster assistance funds are tax-free. FEMA’s notification letter will inform you of the appropriate use of disaster assistance funds. FEMA urges you to use the funds as stated in your award letter and only for disaster-related expenses.
This week kicks off the first event in the annual Alliances for Climate Action virtual series with key speakers including FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson and White House National Climate Advisor Gina McCarthy.
