New for Fall 2021

CUNY ASAP and Math Start are coming to Washington Heights!
Visit our CUNY in The Heights page to learn more about this exciting new offering.

Steps to Join

Step 1:

Be a current CUNY student or Apply to a CUNY college that offers ASAP or ACE.

Step 3:

Accept your offer of admission and complete all college admissions requirements.

Step 4:

Attend an Info Session/Orientation where you can join. Contact a recruiter on your campus for details.

*All CUNY ASAP and ACE students (US Citizens and Permanent Residents) must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) application each year, and accept any federal and state grant aid awarded (Pell, SEOG, TAP). Students not receiving financial aid but otherwise eligible may join but may not receive a tuition and fee gap scholarship.

Not eligible to file for Financial aid? No problem! You can still join and receive all program benefits except for the tuition and fee gap scholarship. Students must notify the recruitment team for further instructions. In addition, the New York State Dream Act helps students receive state aid, including TAP, Excelsior, and other state-administered scholarships. Visit www.hesc.ny.gov/dream for eligibility and to apply.

Visit the CUNY FAFSA guide and financial aid page to learn more.

Additional Academic Support Resources

CUNY offers several academic and other support programs to help students realize their potential – at CUNY and beyond. Learn about partner programs like CLIP, Math Start, and CUNY Start, which help students with deep developmental needs to meet CUNY proficiency milestones.

CUNY Language Immersion Program (CLIP) is an intensive, low-cost ESL program for students who have been accepted to any CUNY college and informed that they are not English proficient.

CUNY Start helps students address their developmental English and math needs while preparing to meet CUNY’s proficiency milestones and be successful in credit-bearing courses.

Math Start is CUNY Start’s 8-week math intensive that prepares students for success in college by fostering their full math potential.
