Brian Baker, Owner and President, implemented our Because We Care (BWC) program at Baker’s Waterproofing.

BWC keeps us involved within our local communities to help those in need, whether it be an organization, local family, or fellow employee.

Faces, Family & Friends

We gave back to this local organization through a Chinese auction held at our annual company event.

About Faces, Family & Friends:

Our simple gesture is dinner for a fighting warrior and their family. Our founder knows how it feels to receive these dinners. She, a survivor herself, received many of them during her journey. Because of the generosity she received, she wanted to share it with others. She felt that there were plenty of organizations out there raising money for research but not enough to help the warrior on a personal level. So from there Faces, Family & Friends was born.

National Kidney Foundation

The Baker’s staff has participated in the 5K Walk and donated to the NKF for years. We are happy to help raise awareness and fund lifesaving programs that educate and support patients, their families, and those at risk.

About NKF:

The National Kidney Foundation is the leading organization in the U.S. dedicated to the awareness, prevention and treatment of kidney disease for hundreds of thousands of healthcare professionals, millions of patients and their families, and tens of millions of Americans at risk.

National Association of Chiefs of Police

SoldierStrong

Baker’s Waterproofing is in a network of Basement Systems dealers across North America. Every year, dealers attend the Contractor Nation convention in Connecticut. In 2017, Baker’s Waterproofing, along with 1,400 attendees, contributed a generous donation to this organization.

About SoldierStrong:

Every day, members of the military put their lives on the line to help protect our country. While most U.S. citizens sit safely on American soil, our soldiers are out risking their lives in unbearable conditions in Afghanistan. When they return home, they are faced with the challenges of re-acclimating to civilian life. In addition, some have been critically wounded or paralyzed in the line of duty. Whether it is on the frontlines protecting our country, in pursuit of higher education and job training or enabling them to walk again, SoldierStrong is committed to helping the members of our Armed Forces take their next steps forward.

Ronald McDonald House

Baker’s hosted an event to prepare breakfast and snack bags for children and their families residing at the Ronald McDonald House in Pittsburgh. These bags are a healthy grab-and-go option for families to pick up as they head out in the morning for medical appointments. This event was a great opportunity to bring our employees together for a wonderful cause.

About RHMC:

Helping a sick child fight their illness takes a big enough emotional toll on a family. Adding a financial strain can make it all almost too much to bear. RMHC can help address those problems, whether they involve housing that’s near a hospitalized child, the expense of staying together in another city, or even getting basic medical and dental care in a vulnerable community. RMHC has local Chapters in more than 64 countries and regions. Since 1974, RMHC has helped address these needs every day, with 431,174 volunteers and staff members, our connections with medical communities around the world, partnerships with respected companies and our generous donors.

Junior Achievement

The Baker’s staff participated in a Bowl-a-Thon to raise money for students involved with Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania. We were thrilled to join thousands of supporters in the Greater Pittsburgh region who are making a difference in participating schools.

About JA:

Junior Achievement’s volunteer-delivered, kindergarten-12th grade programs foster workforce development, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills using experiential learning to inspire students in our community to dream big and reach their potential.

McGuffey Golf Boosters

Our team sponsored the McGuffey Golf Boosters annual tournament to raise funds for their high school golf program. All proceeds help fund tournaments, uniforms, and other program expenses while helping the club promote the development of sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership in those young student athletes.

Washington Area Humane Society

Baker’s Waterproofing is proud to donate to the Washington Area Humane Society in Eighty Four, PA. WAHS has been an important organization in our community for many years. In fact, the Baker family adopted their beloved family dog, Ticket, from WAHS over 30 years ago. It’s an honor to participate in the funding for the new facility designed to provide the best care to the animals in need. A dog kennel and cat condo will be named in honor of Baker’s Waterproofing.
