The XMLA Connector provides seamless data connectivity between OLEDB for OLAP (ODBO) clients and XMLA data sources. The connector was released in 2014 and it is used all around the world, from small businesses to large coorporations. The connector is ODBO compliant and, as such, it loads seamlessly into ODBO clients. The connector is used mostly with Excel (ODBO). Starting with version 1.0.0.58 SharePoint 2013 is supported as Front-End. The connector exposes the IMDDataset interface for classical connectivity. This interface allows axis retrieval and sequential access to data. In addition, bulk access to data is provided through IMDRangeRowset implementation. This allows writing more effective clients that are ultimately faster.
