  • I’m wondering if there’s a way to remove text from RSS feeds on the fly.

I’m sick and tired of the crap job that Google News does of aggregating news, especially science and tech, and am trying to make my own feed. It’s working out pretty well but the author of each feed has a giant and frankly fugly tagline or subhead that I’d like to remove.

    For Example:

The Guardian has it’s name headlining its feeds which is fine and desirable but then it adds the screamer: “Latest international news, sport and comment from the Guardian”

CBC has an even worse one: “FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY”

I’ve tried a search and replace plugin but that didn’t work. Are there any other approaches that I might try?

I’d even be happy if I could just move the ugly tagline to a new line and apply a smaller style…

    Any thoughts?
