The https://make.wordpress.org/test/ site has been moved to https://make.wordpress.org/test-site/ in preperation for the move.

It looks like simply moving the site in network admin is all that needs doing to make most of it happen.

Then we need to

  • Update the description on the make homepage and set it to the new site (potentially)
  • Update plugins/trac-notifications/trac-components.php to reference the new make/test location rather than make/flow (not critical)
  • Add a redirect for make.wordpress.org/flow/(.*) to /test/$1

What about email subscriptions? I think these are currently via Jetpack, can subscribers be automatically moved?

@kraftbj I guess the subscribers won't move automatically when the site is changed from Network Admin?

@dd32 - As long as the database options for the site remain otherwise unchanged, it should keep the subs (the site ID and other bits are stored in the options) and pass upstream to dotcom the URL change.

That said, please do ping me once you've switched the site URL in the NA. I can check out of the Jetpack bits to make sure all goes well and patch up anything unexpected. For my future self, the current ID is 69109521.

Bump. Once renamed, Test can join the other make sites in our outreach.

Attempt 1 at a simple rename failed. Reverted. Examining the various plugins and such now to see what went wrong.

Are you still working on this @Otto42?

I have not looked at it since trying it that first time, but I'll have another go and sort out the issues.

@Otto42, instead of a rename, can you make a new one and then import/export the old data over?

In 4901:

Trac Components: Update comments to reference make/test rather than make/flow.

See #1539

Renamed in DB, flushed caches, added redirects. All looks good to me.

@designsimply Let me know if you see any issues.
@kraftbj FYI if you still want to check on Jetpack subscribers, but everything looks good from here so far.
