Support » Plugin: Query Monitor » Help showing QM Output to Authors

  • Hi there,

I’m trying to use QM to help debug some capability checking for Authors, but I can’t quite figure out how to let someone who is an Author view the QM output.

I found this: “In addition to this, you can set an authentication cookie which allows you to view Query Monitor output when you’re not logged in, or when you’re logged in as a user who cannot usually see Query Monitor’s output. See the Settings panel for details.”

I clicked “Set Authentication Cookie,” then took away my Network Administrator role so I was just an Author, but still couldn’t see the QM output. I still can’t see the QM output.

    What am I missing? Thanks!!

Hmm I’m not sure what the problem might be. Does it work if you set the authentication cookie and then log out? Or switch to a different user account instead of modifying your current account?

Oh shoot, I meant to come back and provide an update but I must have never hit ‘Submit’.

Shortly after posting, I found the ability to use permissions to control this (view_querymonitor_output or whatever it was), and just used that to give myself permission which worked great (and helped make it much easier to debug my original problem).

Unfortunately, I can’t easily switch to a “random author” because our environments are incredibly entangled with SSO.

    Thanks!
