I just created an e-commerce site on WIX. In order to verify that payments can be processed WIX advises running a &#x27;test order&#x27;. This is noted as a test order not an actual order. 

I ran the test order for items for myself.

When you run that test order WIX charges the 3% commission on that test order. 

After contacting the Customer Service Team I was shocked to learn that there would be no refund given that it was an actual order when in fact it was not. Why would I want to order things that are already mine.

From the test order it can be clearly seen that I am conducting a test order by ordering items for myself.

NOTE: Do not run test orders as you will be charged interest on the test order and WIX will brand it as an actual order. This is WRONG in every aspect.

When I saw the auto-renewal email, I decided not to renew, because I just don&#x27;t have the money, but presumed they had my old bank account, so did nothing. I&#x27;ve asked for a refund, since the charge sent my bank account below zero. I hope I am not one of these many people with a horror story about refunds...It&#x27;s almost twenty days, and nothing...

Received my refund.

Missed notification of annual renewal and got auto-charged for premium plan. Contacted support same week after seeing the charge on my card and waited for two weeks. No response from them. After my review about my experience, Claire from Wix team contacted and helped resolved the issue to get me the refund. She was as good a support person as one can ask for and followed through to the end with attention to all details. Also provided feedback to her on how Wix needs to improve the cancellation process to get refunds so that other folks don&#x27;t have to go through these extra steps to get refund.

Support resolved auto renewal issue

As you can see from a lot of other reviews this web hosting company has a business practice to get as many automatic renewals as they can. I tried to cancel a two year automatic renewal right after it renewed for a web site that was no longer up &amp; running. Wix&#x27;s canned answer was no refund. Stay away from this service at all cost.... You have been warned!

No one should ever use wix they are a SCAM company and do not deal with refunds in time. Wix took my money and have not refunded me or even emailed me to respond. They said they would get back to me regarding my refund in 20 days its been well over 20 days and no response. Absolute scam company no one should use them.

Horrendous experience, really buggy and after spending a long time working on my website, it doesn&#x27;t even come up when I type it in. No-one can view my website and I have had to make another site elsewhere. I requested a refund for the subscription and they denied it instantly. Why would I spend my money on a yearly subscription for the site to not even work? It&#x27;s a complete joke. I hate writing bad reviews but Wix truly deserves all the 1 stars I can see that other people have written.

I would honestly steer everyone away from Wix, they just have a good marketing campaign, the product is unusable and I have wasted a few months of my life trying to use their useless website builder. I would love my money back but it seems as if it&#x27;s not going to happen, I wish I read the reviews before investing my time and money into them. Really disappointed.

Horrendous experience

Wix have recently taken a payment for the following amount: £66.62 and £12.46 from my bank account (using my Debit card). I have previously chosen not to renew my subscription for a Premium Account, Domain Name and Mail Boxes as I can see clearly when I check my records. I only have the free account now in case I decide to use Wix services in the future or upgrade at some point. My mailbox has clearly expired. I have written to Wix to no avail and today they have taken yet another £86.40 for a Premium Plan that I don&#x27;t have. I am furious, this is not the service I expect. I don&#x27;t even have a business even related to my original Wix account. I would like some answers and a full refund!

I noticed two transactions of £36 appear on my bank and I am not with Wix.com so emailed to query and they stated I tried something over a yesr ago 😕 I don’t recall last week let alone last year but on looking it seems like I have tried something for free and they have suckered me in via some entrapment method.

I contacted support and I would describe the last representative as a lazy individual who has zero understanding of the meaning of customer service, no documentation provided as requested ahe had not even read the prior email and then still has the cheek to ask me to fill a form in to apply for a refund! The cheeky so an so will be wanting me to reply to her emails next.


Wix as a overall I never used as the platform lacks features of most the big hitters is overpriced for what it is and now I learn the customer service is none existent.

I had a website but unfortunately my business idea didn’t take off. After two years I Decided to cancel the subscription and I was a few days late and they refuse to refund me. I wasn’t using it at all but they still refused

Dealing with Wix has been such a nightmare. I wouldn’t even give them 1 star but I had no other options. I’ve deleted my credit card on file and they were still charging my account! That has never happened with any businesses and they won’t even give me a refund for a recent charge. This is not right at all! I’ve connected with them last year to cancel my services and I still received a charge! I work with so many businesses and will not recommend them at all!!! Can not trust them! There’s also no customer support. Everything is through email. I’ve been charged twice and denied a refund.

the website builder is very slow. The customer service are not helpful and rude. They just want you to hire someone from their team for more money. The renewal subscription is very expensive and you can not cancelled it or got refund.

Here&#x27;s the thing. The website builder is fine. I didn&#x27;t use it on a large scale so I dont know the quality of the upper level features. But you know? My website worked. I only needed it for a year, so i did an annual purchase plan. A week before the renewal or so, i went into my account and &quot;turned off auto-renewal&quot;. That must not have been enough, or maybe my internet connection was bad. Either way, i was charged the whopping 200 dollar annual charge. Damn. Well, time to get a refund for the second year that hadn&#x27;t happened, right? I did eventually but let me tell you, it. was. not. an. easy. process.

As a developer, I&#x27;m sometimes lazy to build a website so I have used Wix for several years now for projects where I just wanna have it done with minimal effort. Everything worked well for me. I was running a blog and a portfolio website too.
There was a time where I accidentally left my yearly subscription and it was renewed without my intentions. At first, my refund was rejected (I guess it&#x27;s an automated process and I was a bit over the 14 days period) but after writing personally about my experience here, I was pleasantly surprised by how helpful the support team was. They understood the situation and refunded me. Wow! They care. I can only recommend them

Wix offered a 50% discount on an upgrade so I switched but they refused to give me the refund from previous purchase, so in reality I didn’t get value as advertised. Also each year they double the cost of my plan. Be warned do not use them as your business host!!!

Flimflam business practice

The worst content management system for the website. Nothing works. The system does not save updates, customer support is never available. The subscription plan promises refund in first 2 weeks, but they never returned my money.

I just want to let everybody know my experience with Wix and advice people to steer themselves away from this company, to prevent unnecessary loss of our hard-earned money. 

I made a website with Wix a year ago, paid $75 a year, which was a few times more expensive than what I paid for strikingly. Alright,that&#x27;s fine, I paid the cost and I learnt my lesson, and so I thought....

But what I did not expect was the auto-renewal policy that they had scammed me for another $150. 

Well I believe every single one of us had experience dealing with &quot;auto-renewal&quot; policy, most of other companies would at least send you an email or text to remind you of the expiry date, and to advice you to take action or otherwise an auto renewal will apply. 

But Wix is definitely taking this to a whole new level. They had been start sending junk mails to me with heading such as &quot;50% off&quot; 3 months before my contract expire. All of them simply look like normal marketing EDm, but none of them had try to draw my attention to the&quot;expiry date&quot;

 Not only that, Wix would also not send you an invoice after they had auto renewed your policy. It is quite obvious to me that they are trying to hide from my acknowledgement, until I found that out myself on my credit card statement.

I asked for a refund but obviously they would not do so. No wonder why they are rated only 1.6 out of 5. It is simply a dishonest company.

The idea of Wix is great, the execution is pretty abysmal. 

My site pages simply don&#x27;t load properly in too numerous ways to explain here, but they range from elements not loading in order to loosing their links.
 
Elements on the mobile version shift around if I so much as open the editor which is not a nice surprise and totally baffling. 

Generally, the quantity of bugs I contend with trying to execute simple layouts is &#x27;stunning&#x27;. I spend the majority of my time deleting and reloading elements, reloading the editor and trying to find workarounds, which is as hard as getting through to technical support. 

I am finally in a Twitter thread with the DM box that is offered as &#x27;tech support&#x27;, but they tell me I have to start a new chat on a different Twitter handle cause they aren&#x27;t really tech support. 

In any case, there is no point in doing that, as so far, all I get are links to pages on their forums that don&#x27;t address the fact that I&#x27;m dealing with BUGS. 

Whilst undoubtedly it is no easy task to make your software compatible with various browsers and OSs, if you choose to make that your business, you need to be better at it than this and not keep releasing new features when the base services are still in beta. 

Furthermore, if you want to charge the kinds of fees Wix does, which strangely seem to increase without any warning, you need to make your software functional and reliable. 

I recommend not using this service, as I&#x27;ve lost face with people looking at my work on this site. I regret not trying to learn HTML5 cause with the amount of time I&#x27;ve lost trying to make Wix work, which it never really does, I could have learned enough not to have spent the thousands of bucks I have on this fruitless pursuit.

Even if there were no bugs, you still have to deal with Wix&#x27;s &#x27;peddler&#x27; navigation which is like having to walk through a massive duty-free section when you&#x27;ve gotten off a long haul and just want to get to your family- they don&#x27;t return you to the folder your working from so you have to click off of using their stock stuff to then go through to all your assets etc. That alone is pretty exhausting. 

In general it&#x27;s sad cause it could be really good. I&#x27;ve tried to make it good, but in the end, it&#x27;s not up to me and I can&#x27;t keep wasting my time...or money. I have to wait a year now though as I&#x27;m sure that despite all the trouble I have and the fact I need to build my sites elsewhere, I will not be able to get a refund, it being 14+ days since I stupidy &#x27;upgraded&#x27;.

Terrible unethical company that borders on Criminal. They have a feature to provide your business with a phone number you can use in their app, I signed up for it, but did not like it. However I wanted to keep the phone number, but they refused to let me port it over. Basically they held my business phone number, (and business) hostage. It took quite a bit of money to get a new phone number for my business and change all of my signage and stationary. 

Then I set the auto-renew to off, however, once the year came around they renewed everything. I complained to them and requested a refund but was denied. I honestly didn&#x27;t expect a refund from such a crooked company. Buyer Beware!!

Update

After posting this review Ihave updated my rating from 1 start to 3. A Wix representative reached out to me and was able to refund the money that auto-renewed. He also was the only representative to apologize and acted in an ethical manner. While I think the damage is done and I will no longer do business with Wix, I do want to give them credit for reaching and attempting to rectify the situation.

I purchased a 2-year plan for $276 and in the next couple months someone from Wix called me to talk about creating an online store, basically to upgrade to their more expensive plan. Before upgrading I asked if I decide to cancel what is the procedure and they said I can cancel in the next 14 days and they&#x27;ll issue a refund so I said ok. They deducted the remaining balance on my existing plan($245) and said they offer a one-time discount of 50%. So I said ok. Later I decided I don&#x27;t need this upgrade and want to just go back to the plan. It took them more than a month to do anything, and when they finally issued a refund for the upgrade my whole plan was cancelled(the one from before) so I basically remained without my website working. When I talked to them they said they cannot adn will not refund anything so I can purchase back the plan neither to reinstate my old plan. They basically ripped me off $245. I am looking to proceed with a lawsuit.

Horrible horrible horrible customer service as so many others have mentioned. They are the absolute WORST company I have ever dealt with. Don’t waste your time or money. I have my website through wix and acquired a business number through them. Come to finally discover it’s not been working. I cannot call out, I can’t receive calls or text. Of course I contacted them but it is a constant run around of emails and “because we care” emails to click on a link that never works. I have literally not talked to anyone and have had a bazillion emails and have had about 10 different customer reps tell me that they will escalate my issue!! Nope!!! 
I’ve now cancelled my mailbox thru them and this business line that has never worked… no wonder I haven’t received any business!!! NO ONE CAN CONTACT ME!!!! I’ve paid thru this until January 2022. 
I have talked to my wireless provider as wix suggested twice and they keep telling me it’s Wix’s problem. 
DONT USE WIX. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS. And now let’s see if they give me a nice little response asking me to “contact them”. 
Maybe I need to consult my lawyer to inquire about loss of income and Wix not providing a refund for a business line that has never worked. Look at all the other reviews… same issues!!!
