  • Love this project! The current version (14.1.16) will not work Mac OS X Big Sur (11.0.1), but the beta version (4.1.16.02) seems to work ok. Thanks to the team for addressing this issue so quickly!
  • The responsiveness of the Dev Team via groups.io is superior.
  • Thank you for a great piece of software, and for the support.
  • FLDigi does everything I need for the non-WSJT-X modes. The author is very responsive to bug reports and feature enhancements. Design-wise had to drop it 1 star mainly because the complexity makes the software a little difficult to use/understand and as such the 600+ page manual makes for daunting reading. Mike
  • UI is counter-intuitive; the amount of show stopper bugs is huge for a mature piece of software like this. Crashes if a wrong button is pressed.

  • Thanks for great software. And pleeeease, 64-bit native Windows build)))
  • Love it Dave!
  • Gracias por compartir su esfuerzo. Thanks for sharing your effort.
  • fldigi-4.1.04.01_x86_64.dmg and fldigi-4.1.03_x86_64.dmg will not install on Mac El Capitan / 10.11.6: "no mountable filesystems". To build from source, you will need FLTK, I don't know how to build that from source. Also, how do I contact the Fedora builders regarding bugs in the Fedora release? The Fedora 28 builds are not working either: fldigi crashes when flmsg is started. This is fldigi 4.0.01-1.fc28 and flmsg 4.0.7-1.fc28.
  • Some of the best programs mainly in linux you just need to have the AX25 mode for packet and be able to use it from modem !! excellent work .. thanks
  • Brilliant software. The complete suite surely will test the most knowledgeable in amateur radio. It does require one's full attention and a basic understanding of ham radio theory across all bands and various methods of communication currently in use, however, any beginner can start off slowly working in the HF band using only one protocol. A personal computer or laptop hooked up to a ham rig, pre-configured and synced with the fldigi's many available programmable functions allows visual on-screen waterfall monitoring to locate present hotspot activity simultaneously within or across an entire band, and make contact using the personal computer's keyboard and mouse. For those who are shy, no voice communications are ever necessary. Also, no gigantic antenna tower is needed either. Fldigi works from inside an apartment with an internal antenna and can connect with operators thousands of miles away on ten watts of power, 25 watts typical, 100 watts max. It's very sensitive and anything more than 100W transceiver power is highly discouraged. Multiple tutorials and help are available on-line at YouTube and also included with the packages. It can be a bit challenging at first but easy enough to start making contacts all over the world almost immediately, and multiple protocols almost always work even when vox is quiet . Fldigi is well worth any effort we put in to it. Thank you, W1HKJ, for making this incredible open source gem available to all and free for life.
  • Great software. I just wish it would get ported to run on iOS as well as support FT8, JT65, JT9. It would be amazing to be able to run this from an iPhone for SOTA & field day.
  • fine app for any case. I love to use it for reading the high-speed cw. and it works fine. Even if the Operator gives "with left foot".
  • Got here by the flnet page so this comment is for flnet 7.3.2 Symantic is flagging this as A high-risk incident was detected on ED-3 within the group HSPA on 1/19/2018 10:28:14 AM. • It works. Developer is VERY responsive to issues and usually has a bug fix out in no more than 24 hours. The user community is also very knowledgeable and helpful.
  • I have used fl apps briefly. Got ready to upgrade, and downloaded fldigi, flmsg, flrig. I wish that the install notes for Windows specifically mentioned whether these apps install standalone, or if they embed in Windows. Also mention how to upgrade...install upgrade in new diir? Overwrite old dir? I found comments in fldigi_4.0.5_help.pdf, sect 8.2 that might apply as good practice in general, but no clue.
  • We are training and using it with our local ARES group. I can't say it works flawlessly BUT when something does go wrong I also look at the computer for changes that could have been made to make FLDIGI or one of its suites malfunction. I have found that some of the computer maintenance programs are often the culprit deleting some files FLIDGI needs. I also leave a couple older versions on just in case a newer version has a flaw in it and doesn't work. These problems are often addressed by the program developer ( s ) and that is why you will see frequent updates not to mention it is constantly evolving sometimes honoring users request for something. I have been using FLDIGI for several years now and saw it change. For instance they have added fields for field day in the built in logging program. When adding a new version it is very important to check your setting to make sure everything is like the previous program. The auto start up especially if you add a new version like FLamp etc. I developed a problem with rig control nothing changed on FLDIGI so I booted up FLRIG and everything is back in order. The Yahoo group is a good resource for help and there are many YouTube video's that help sometimes better than going to the Yahoo group. Not only is it used for ham radio use but SWL's use it also. A good practice and I do it right down all the version numbers from FLDIGI and it's companion programs and check here frequently for new versions!
  • This program is great, unless you start it up one day and find out you have no way to select your sound card.............I can find NO cure for this malady....uninstalling and reinstalling does nothing....all searches for a cure produce nothing.....the Yahoo group has nothing either.......others have had this same problem....until this is finally cured, fldigi is useless to me.....sad, it works fantastic otherwise.......
  • For the last few years, fldigi has come a long way in the feature department, but it is still prone to crashing. Linux users have long wanted support for Hi-res monitors (4K); It's impossible to use when you can't read the font. Just recently, I thought I would try out the version for Android. Nope, it won't load to a Samsung Galaxy S7. Sorry, but until they fix the bugs I can not recommend fldigi. There are other programs that while may not be as feature rich, just work out of the box.
  • Having issues with windows 10 and flmsg 4.0.0. Auto open in browser and form no longer works and you have to do some searching to manually open a printable message. and can no longer download a previous version
  • The fun never ends! Just keeps getting better and better.
  • Started using PSK about 18 months ago. Looked at several programs, Digipan, HRD780, AirLink Express, MixW and fldigi. I used Digipan for a year but kept experiment with other software for more depth (and newer) programs. HRD780 has WAY more features than I needed or wanted to learn. AirLink Express is a nicely updated Digipan meaning simple to use and some nice deluxe features. The Russian heritage of MixW made me hesitant. Then a ham friend talked me into taking another look at fldigi. After a few hours I was sold. Almost everyday I find a new feature that I didn't know it could do. It is obvious that this program was written by hams that use digital modes. Once, during an upgrade, Windows failed to link the com ports correctly. I posted a note on the Yahoo Group and was immediately answered by Dave W1HKJ, one of the developers. He got me going again..Can't beat support like that! And Dave's group does all of this for FREE!

  • Although the program works well I don't like the installation / update that insists in trying to install into a folder who's name is the same as the version number being installed, I think it would be better to use a folder name that does not vary with the version number or at least use the same folder name as the previous install without having to force the folder name (by removing the extra Fldigi-3.xx.xx.xx from the Destination Folder that is added by the Installer no matter where you try to install it). In Windows 7 and later it is often better to install some programs outside of the C:\Program Files folder and I tend to use C:\HamRadio\<ProgramName> I don't want to use C:\HamRadio\Fldigi-3.xx.xx.xx or C:\HamRadio\Fldigi\Fldigi-3.xx.xx.xx that it tries to impose on me when I click Browse).
