Changing a remote's URL from GitHub Desktop

You can change the remote URL for a repository you're working with in GitHub Desktop. You might do this if the repository has been renamed, or the username or organization that owns the repository has changed.

  1. In the Repository menu, click Repository Settings.... Repository Settings menu option
  2. In the Primary remote repository field, type the desired URL. Primary remote repository field
  3. Click Save. The Save button
