When I launched this campaign, I made a promise: if elected, I would listen to Arizonans, hear their concerns, and fight tirelessly for them in the Senate. Now that’s exactly what I’m doing in Washington.

When I met Francisca last year, she told me how hard it’s been running a small business in this pandemic. I’ve been working since day one in the Senate to get Arizona’s economy — and our state’s 100,000+ Latino-owned small businesses — back on track.

Arizona is home to some of the greatest artists in the world and losing the organizations that support them would be a devastating loss to our state. I’m glad funding from the COVID relief package was able to help so many keep their doors open.

When Yuma native Cesar Chavez saw the working conditions of farmworkers, he organized to improve them, creating a labor movement that has gone on to benefit every working American. We could all learn from his perseverance in the face of injustice.

Growing up watching my parents serve our community as police officers, I knew I wanted to serve our country. They inspired me to join the Navy and NASA, and I know I wouldn’t be serving as Arizona’s senator right now if it weren’t for their example.
