What we're about

We're a global group of WordPress developers, designers, and users interested in building more accessible websites. Join us twice per month for meetups on a variety of topics related to making WordPress websites that can be used by people of all abilities.

Meetups will be held on the first Thursday of the month at 8 AM U.S. pacific time and on the third Monday of the month at 5 PM U.S. pacific time. All groups are held virtually via Zoom so you can join from anywhere.

In between meetups, we invite you to connect with other attendees and members to discuss WordPress accessibility in our Facebook Group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/wordpress.accessibility.

Interested in speaking? We'd love to hear what you have to say and learn more about how you use WordPress to build accessible websites! Send the organizers, Emma and Amber, a message with your talk idea.

Please note that this group is a welcoming space for all and all members must follow the WordPress Online Code of Conduct. How Ignoring Accessibility Costs You & Your Clients: Colleen Gratzer

Join us for a virtual meetup on WordPress Accessibility, where Colleen Gratzer, accessibility specialist and CCO of Gratzer Graphics, will be discussing the cost of ignoring accessibility.

Many web developers and agencies think accessibility doesn’t apply to
them. But even if accessibility is not a legal requirement for your
clients, ignoring it can still cost your clients not only financially
but reputation as well.

Developers and agencies do their clients a disservice by not creating
accessible websites and may be putting themselves at risk too. Learn how to consider accessibility and avoid these costs!

About the Speaker:
Colleen Gratzer is an award-winning designer with almost 25 years of
experience in branding, print, and web design and development.

An accessibility specialist since 2016, she has provided InDesign
accessibility training to the U.S. Department of the Interior, at the
CreativePro InDesign + Accessibility Summit, appeared on several
podcasts and given presentations about website accessibility.

Her consulting business, Gratzer Graphics, provides design and
accessibility services to nonprofits, creative firms and developers.

Through Creative Boost, she hosts the Design Domination podcast;
educates designers and developers about freelancing issues, design and
the importance of accessibility; and offers accessible branding and
website accessibility courses and other resources.

She is a member of the IAAP, the International Association of
Accessibility Professionals, and holds a verified certificate of
achievement for introductory website accessibility from W3C, with plans
to pursue additional certifications.
