I was asked to help the community by Abha Thakor and later on by Raffaella Isidori. I was translating in many languages for WordPress translation day. I contribute with my husband, who also wrote for journals, on articles for this. I have helped interview people for features. I talk on translation and highlight the value of translating for sense in the grammar of the local language and not just word for word where readers may get lost. I have been a member of many international societies and am interested in the WordPress community due to its commitment to bringing people together across the globe.

Through Mary Baum, Yvette Sonneveld and others, I joined the core team and been part of a couple of releases.

I help, as does my husband as a writer, on the WordPress Marketing Team too, mainly through mentoring and supporting diversity. I got involved more in the community through meeting some of the European organisers on a video call after the 2020 event. I was a volunteer at WCEU 2021 and WordPress Translation Days in 2019 and 2020. I am on the WPDiversity Team.

My son has been able to help on some projects with the help of the Belfast team and Yoast. My daughter is very involved in WordPress and her work in technology too.
