Wordfence reports that “The Plugin “Display PHP Version” appears to be abandoned”.

    Plugin Name: Display PHP Version
    Current Plugin Version: 1.5
    Last Updated: 2019-04-26

Details: It was last updated 2 years 0 months ago and tested up to WordPress 5.1.9. Plugins can be removed from wordpress.org for various reasons. This can include benign issues like a plugin author discontinuing development or moving the plugin distribution to their own site, but some might also be due to security issues. In any case, future updates may or may not be available, so it is worth investigating the cause and deciding whether to temporarily or permanently replace or remove the plugin.`

Plugin is not abandoned. It’s just a very simple and lightweight plugin that rarely needs maintenance or new releases.

Unfortunately these types of plugins are viewed as abandoned or out-of-date which is not the case in this instance.

I’ll push out an update soon to bump the date but the plugin code will likely not change as it doesn’t need to!

FYI – I just updated the plugin today (v1.6) to show it’s still actively developed! 🙂

Plus, as a bonus I added support for displaying the current MySQL version too when the PHP version text is hovered over.
