What is your setup?

Hi,
I am just starting my first site. It is hosted with cPanel.
Currently, i have been playing around with the Hemingway theme in the wp-admin area. I have quite a specific way i want the site to look so I will need to customise the theme or create a new one from scratch.
Does everyone have a local wordpress set up that they build themes in and then send them over to the server on cPanel when it’s ready?
I have Dreamweaver for editing themes but i’m confused on how i will test it without it being in cPanel. Does this mean i need to have local hosting?

Many people change their website on their production environment. That’s not something I suggest, because it’s pretty easy to break a website. Tho, many people dont know what other options are available.

Well, like I said, we are happy to provide support if you want to try WPLib Box.
Our goal — although we are not quite there yet — is to create the easiest local dev solution with a focus on “just working” but even when it doesn’t we want ours to tell you how to fix it.
Those principles guide everything we are going as we build it.
