I scheduled a post and it didn’t happen and auto update isn’t working on my plug-ins.

I’ve done some research and the likely culprit is wp-cron, but I have no idea what this means or how to fix it. They all seem to involve coding and I have no coding knowledge at all.

Can someone tell me how to fix this?

Kingly check your Site’s Health (TOOLS => SITE HEALTH) to see if any errors are reported there.

Check what Site Health has to say about ‘WP Cron’

Check wp-config.php, possibly ‘WP Cron’ is disabled there and you can try ‘Alternative Cron’:

And if it will not help, try to enable Debug log to see if there will be useful information about the problem:

This is my latest message:

The scheduled event, mm_cron_hourly, failed to run. Your site still works, but this may indicate that scheduling posts or automated updates may not work as intended.

Did you check wp-config.php as I have mentioned above and tried alternative cron?
If you have no plugins which are making this and there is nothing in ‘wp-config.php’ you can ask your hosting provider as well.
