Unique Home Design & Remodeling is the best home improvement company. We met and talked to Sol who came over to our house to check and to give us an estimate for us and to be honest… from that meeting… Sol was very nice and professional and he made us feel very motivated about the entire remodeling project. The work was to redo the whole house including the backyard (pool and Jacuzzi). The completed work looks stunning and we are happy that we hired them for that work. We will absolutely recommend Unique Home Design & Remodeling to anyone who is interesting in remodeling their house. Our tip is to have a detailed estimate (like what we got from Sol). This will help you a lot during the work.

Update: I was not paid to give a review and I did utilize and hire Shefer Builders for a total remodel. Remodeling can be stressful. So many decisions and expenses. We thought about it several years. We researched, planned, saved and interviewed several companies. We wanted a general contractor that could handle all our needs (one stop). We met with Yani of Shefer Builder twice. We shared our budget, our wants, and our concerns. It’s important you find someone you feel comfortable with and can have confidence in. It’s your home after all. He made us feel excited about the possibilities and his portfolio was extensive. He had loads of ideas and thoughtful ways and places we could make our dreams come true. We’d lived in our 1950s home for 20 years. Everything needed updating. From the roof down to new flooring, new windows, doors, outside stucco, and a gorgeous new open floor plan kitchen (removed a wall) and bathroom! We couldn’t be happier now! The end result is amazing. It looks like something in a magazine. Yet very livable. Yani helped with choosing wall colors, tile, flooring and fixtures. They built a new master walk-in closet with custom organizers. Added crown molding and pocket lights throughout and durable pretty flooring. During the process Yani stayed in touch constantly and sent pictures of the progress. If we had a question he was very responsive in returning a call or text. He stayed within our budget and even found places to save us money. We joke if we win the lotto we’ll have Shefer Builder back to add a second story. We’d be happy to provide more info.

They are fantastic. I have never had anybody take as much time and it is was just a really wonderful experience. My daughter was having her 50th birthday and she wanted to have it at our home. The pool was empty for years and so we had him come out and they gave us an estimate. They went every place with us, like to pick up my tile and everything. They went with us to pick out everything. They were fantastic and I asked them to get it done in 2 weeks as my daughters birthday was on 30th July and they got it done. It was being filled the day before the birthday. It was just gorgeous. I like the way they gave the estimate and they mentioned in it that if we run into such and such a problem then it would be such a price and so we were not surprised. When they got to the point they showed us what was happening and asked how we wanted to handle it. It was just hands on and just good communication. It was fantastic and I was so thrilled because I didn't think it was possible to get the pool done but it was. It was a wonderful experience. Their price was excellent and I had asked with someone and it was awesome. They had people who were plumbers and electricians that worked with the pool and we have used them since. I called them just because they were so professional and asked him about different people. He is just unbelievable.

As advertised - Stuck to schedule - employees were knowledgeable and efficient. All employees seemed well versed in their roles (not their first rodeo) Cleaned up after work each day. Hard working group.

They were excellent. They were always here on time in the morning. They came early in the morning and worked until late in the day. They met an artificial deadline that really required them to perform, and did they ever! They were excellent. We gave them a month to pull it all together. Although there were other contractors working and they were stumbling all over each other, Laguna has the biggest part. They took out all of the old plumbing and replaced it with new. They completed the job in about two weeks. I would recommend them to anyone who has this kind of work to do. Francisco, the person who represents Laguna Pools, would call to make sure everything was going OK. He was willing to listen to our concerns and do whatever we needed him to do. He was great. He actually became a good friend during the process because that is just how good a person he is.

Awesome, it was done on the time frame they said. They are reliable and the product are gorgeous and they are very easy to work with.

We were referred to LAR Construction & Remodeling by a family friend and we contacted Gili, scheduled a meeting and provided him the vision of what we wanted to have and to also know how much we can spend. Gili came back with his laptop and with a 3D design of the pool including all the hardscape that by far surpassed all of our hopes and his proposal estimate was also within our budget (which means that he listened to us and understood our needs very good). Gili even made some modifications to the placement of the pool which maximized the space of the backyard. Gili estimated the remodeling project as a 3 months project (on a daily basis). We believed that it will take much longer because the type of the pool that needed a cut into the hillside, hardscape, sprinklers and more and more... But surly enough, they were done with the project a little bit longer than the 3 months. We do recommend Gili and all his team to anyone who is looking to design and build a pool. Gili helped us picking out all the colors for the stones around the pool.

Horribly mismanaged. Avoid. The end result looks good, but the process was painful. Project took >8 months from signing contract to completion, when easily could have been done in 2 months with good project management. Everyone on the staff I met / spoke with is very nice and friendly, so I can only assume the problem is basic Management Incompetence. I was constantly being told workers would be out to my house on a specific date, then they wouldn't show, and after I called to ask why not was told they're just overly busy and will be out the following week... and that cycle would repeat. I must have placed over 100 calls during the project to followup on their lack of follow through. At one point I even paid an online service to track down the home phone number of the CEO to try to get service. I've never had to do that before, but I had to go to extremes to get them to actually show up and do their job as their lack of communication, constant delays and broken promises was the worst I've ever experienced. Individual workers, and the sales rep, who came out to our house were all great and seemed competent. We're now loving our pool, but it was a very, unnecessarily, painful process to get to this point.

The upfront sales was decent, i was promised a perfect pool remodel. What I didn't know or think to ask was if this company actually performs the work, as it turns out all jobs were subcontracted out. When issues arose (no shows or quality issues) the company took zero accountability for the work and would not even come out to look at the issues. Instead, I was forced to deal directly with the sub-contractors. Additionally, the owner was one of the most rude people I have come across in South Florida. When I confronted him about my concerns he quickly began to scream at me and self protecting vs. really caring about my satisfaction as a paying customer. I rarely argue and he really got my blood pressure up. The main issue I had was the quality of the diamond brite refinish. There were (and still are) footprints at the bottom of my pool and several blemishes around the steps. Additionally, when the contractors did finally come out, they arrived at 9:30pm while I was watching TV in bed and they knocked on my bedroom window from the backyard.... talk about a scare! I thought they were there to murder me! Overall, I would stay clear of this company at all costs.

NO. Do not use this company, whichever name is tries to go by - ROW,replastering, remodeling. Address is sometimes listed as 5200 Faith Home Road in Ceres. They are snakes. After leaving our pool remodeling project (which dragged on for months) and our pool with not one but two leaks in the pool, we eventually ended up in small claims court! And WE WON against them. They appealed - they lost again. And they were told to pay us even more money after the appeal. They had been refusing to pay the court ordered amount; they went to great lengths to avoid the process servers, including lying and hiding from them. As soon as we notified the State Contractor's Licensing Board of the court's judgement, their license was suspended. Within one week we had our check from them!!! How they had a BBB rating of A+ is beyond ridiculous. Please don't go through what we have gone through - just avoid this company!

The company owner, Tony Adams, personally came to our house within a day or so of when we stopped by the showroom. He suggested a better (and less expensive) surface than the all-glass-bead finish we had been considering, and also a much nicer granite than the blah brown we had been considering. We received a written proposal incorporaring everything we wanted within another day or so; work began the following Monday; and the entire job was finished in under three weeks. The efficiency and quality of the work were astonishing, and the cleanup after each workday was immaculate. The cost was less than we would have paid our original smaller contractor, from whom we were having difficulty getting a start date. Responsiveness was off the chart: Experts in each area--plumbing, electrical, layout and masonry were frequently onsite, and Tony himself visited almost everyday--three times on the day the Pebble-Plus surfacing was applied. I had cellular numbers for Tony and the experts in case I had questions, and a coordinator in the office if I didn't know whom to contact. When I asked to have a squeeling pump replaced before the project was completed, it was done before the end of the day; when our pool service quit the day they were to resume weekly care, Tony had his start-up guy continue on the job while we were out of the country for three weeks. Even now, months later, my questions about the new salt system and pool chemistry are welcomed and get answered almost immediately. Totally awesome customer care! Quality was also astonishing, always surpassing my very high expectations. Every person was a perfectionist, and many rose to the level of artist. I have time for only a few examples: Tony had three large custom samples produced to be sure the color mix of pebbles, glass bead and concrete would be just what we wanted, and he also carted away a stone slab to be sure the new ones would match exactly. The new pathways were measured and laid out so they looked original; the leveling and grout match were perfect; and each slab laid was even hand scrubbed thoroughly to be sure the mortar stuck. The masons laying granite found the perfect circle to fit on the backsplash above the spa; managed to locate the sheer descent at a groutline; beautifully cut and rounded all the exposed edges everywhere; and used a grout color that that blends the foot-square tiles almost seamlessly together. The guys who applied the pool finish worked together like a professional dance troupe. The plumbers who installed the outdoor shower tunnelled under the flowering groundcover instead of removing it as they laid the water lines, which are insulated copper; and they even installed shut-offs and perging valves to prevent freezing in the winter. The stair rail installer brought several samples and special ordered just what we needed, then artfully matched the edges of the anchor core holes to the edges of the stone slabs even though they are covered whenever the railing is in place. Perhaps most impressive to us is that the four concrete patches laid elsewhere in the yard are an absolutely perfect match in color and texture to the surrounding concrete. This was done by taking a piece of the old concrete back to the shop and testing various conntrolled color mixes, letting each dry, until the perfect one was found. Such painstaking attention to detail on a freebie add-on to a project epitomizes the standard of care lavished by Adams Pools upon every detail of its work. I cannot imagine why anyone would use anybody other than Adams to build or remodel their pool.
