I had an old tract house, ugly looking fireplace that I wanted to replace. The people at Canyon Fireplace (sorry, I've forgotten any names) were very helpful in picking out a fireplace style that I really liked. The lead time was a few weeks to get the fireplace mantel. The installers showed up at the scheduled time. They were courteous and helpful with a cable I wanted to string around the fireplace. They did a great job and the fireplace looks great.

Smoothly. It was several hours of work by Randy, and the result is a fully functioning fireplace. We are delighted with the result and very appreciative of Kidd Fireplace's action to find and implement a definitive and successful solution. As well, the new fireplace passes the cat test. No more need be said.

100% success, two guys came and one worked on each fireplace. The downstairs fireplace in particular is much improved due to the cleanup job they did. They also demonstrated the operation of all of the fireplace controls which is nice, since I didn't even know how to find the controls before they came. Both guys were very helpful and knew all about the fireplaces.

The Chimney Doctor arrived promptly on time, was courteous and explained the process every step of the way including the actions he was performing to optimize the gas fireplace and tips for self maintenance. The fireplace not functions like it should. He cleaned the entire fireplace inside and out by vacuum and by hand. It now looks like brand new inside. He also provided me some options for fireplaces add-on and measured for new doors as another option. He was careful to fully clean up the working area upon finishing. And double checked the operation of the fireplace with me before leaving.

Great. Zack got straight to the problem and worked until it was fixed. The fireplace is now working well and looks great!

Captain Kirk's worker arrived on time and performed the cleaning. The floor and fireplace were left in a clean condition. Then a bill was presented which included comments on the condition of the fireplace and the flue.

My original plan was to have a wood burning fireplace insert installed. However, my fireplace was manufactured so it wasn't big enough for a wood burning insert. So instead the folks at Intimate Flame helped me choose a gas fireplace insert manufactured by Fireplace Xtrordinair. I am very happy with the choice, no more wood to split, no Dura flames to buy, and no ashes to clean. It's the best purchase I've made for my house besides the laminate flooring we had installed.

They were very good. The were very professional and responsive. They came on time and did a good job. I think that they are a little costly, but about average with everyone else.

They were excellent and did everything they were contracted to do on schedule. Everything worked out quite well.

He provided an estimate, offered suggestions on different types of materials and waited while we obtained other estimates. As requested he came back to provide additional information & suggestions after we notified him of our decision on the type of stone desired for refacing the fireplace. He answered all of our questions as to what we still needed to do & scheduled specific dates for the work. After removing the outer fireplace stone face, he immediately informed us of wood rot in the ceiling above the fireplace and immediately repaired it after obtaining our approval. His was always prompt, courteous, secluded the work area with plastic from the rest of the living room to minimize the dust, cleaned up immaculately each day and did a beautiful job with refacing the fireplace & painting the ceiling & walls around the fireplace. He was very professional, informative and patient from beginning to end.

I was needing to replace the doors on 2 fireplaces and they ordered the doors, came and removed old ones, and installed the new doors in both fireplaces. The took great care of me and I was impressed with the fact that they came early, the installation was prompt, and completed quickly. The did a very good job and would use them in the future for any fireplace needs.

Owner David Rodrigues contacted us immediately following an e-mail sent to him requesting a price quote. David came to our home, inspected the chimney, made some suggestions as to how to best deal with our situation and timely provided us with a price quote for all of the work. David showed up on time as promised with a co-worker, removed an extremely heavy and large fireplace insert and prepared the chimney for cleaning with a special solution that would break down the creosote that lined our chimney. He explained in detail how the process would work, when materials would be received and when he would be able to install the new gas fireplace log set. Our fireplace was already set up to receive a gas fireplace log set, so all that was needed was to connect the gas line stub to the new set and to make sure everything was working. Once the chemical was allowed time to break down the creosote, David cleaned out the chimney and inspected it for safety. Finding no cracks or issues, he proceeded to connect the new gas fireplace log set to the existing gas line and set up the fireplace. The fireplace log set is turned on and off by a handheld remote. It worked great following installation. We did subsequently have an issue with the remote, and David had to return twice to troubleshoot the remote control device. We felt really bad about having to have David return twice, but he always found time to come by to investigate the problem and after the second callback decided to install a new remote control device and let the manufacturer deal with the issue. He was courteous, knowledgeable, responsive, dilligent and everything works great, just in time for the holidays. We love the gas log set HE picked out. It is very realistic looking and gives off great heat. We would highly recommend David and his company if you are contemplating any fireplace work.

Excellent job. The showroom is one of the best for fireplaces in the area and worth the drive over the hill to Santa Cruz. The office answered questions and worked with us on finding what would work. The contractor they recommended was very respectful to our home and did an excellent job. Fireplace works great.

CUSTOM FIREPLACE PROVIDED US WITH MANY OPTIONS AND PRICE RANGES. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A FIREPLACE INSERT OR A FREE STANDING UNIT. THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND WE FELT VERY COMFORTABLE WORKING WITH THEM, NO HIGH PRESSURE.

THEY HAVE A SMALL BUT NICE SHOWROOM AND WE WERE ABLE TO FIND A NICE CONTEMPORARY FIREPLACE INSERT. BESIDES THE ACTUAL FIREPLACE, WE HAD SOME CUSTOM SHEET METAL WORK DONE TO HIDE THE OLD FIREPLACE OPENING AND THEY DID INSTALLATION. ONE THING NEVER WORKED RIGHT UPON INSTALLATION, BUT WE DIDN'T NOTICE RIGHT AWAY AND ONLY DISCOVERED IT LONG AFTER THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. WE NEVER ASKED THEM TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE.

California Window and Fireplace, Inc. did an install of a gas fireplace insert in November 2014. As part of that they also investigated a problem with our Marvin sliding door. There was a nominal investigation charge for this built into the labor for the fireplace insert project. They informed us that the parts necessary would be a warranty repair by Marvin. Kudos for long term warranty by Marvin too. They subsequently ordered replacement parts from the Marvin company and both we and they waited for the parts to arrive from Marvin. Early in January California Window and Fireplace, Inc. contacted us and set an install date for the sliding door repair. On the appointed time they arrived, did the repair and tested to make certain that it was working. There was no additional labor charge for this service because we had initially setup the door repair as pat of the fireplace insert project. We recommend California Window and Fireplace, Inc. as a customer service oriented company, going all the miles: Checking warranty, ordering parts, tracking the parts and everything to ensure that the door repair was done to our satisfaction.
