I WAS AMAZED AT HOW THE FLOOR CAME OUT. IT LOOKED BRAND NEW. THE ONLY BUMMER WAS MOVING ALL OF THE FURNITURE OUT OF THE KITCHEN. OVERALL, IT WAS A GOOD JOB, AND MY FLOOR STILL LOOKS GOOD.

MARBLE DOCTORS
1.0
TERRIBLE!! Company was late several times and made excuses. Did a terrible job on marble floors. Left grout that was originally white now BLACK or dirty looking!! Forgot to buff wax off of some counter tops and after calls and promise to come back to finish. They didn't come back. The owner, Doug Johnston, did more talking than working. I would not recommend them to anyone.

San Jose Floor Coverings
5.0
Honest, professional, quality work. Master bath toilet was leaking for some time at parents house. Floor had soft spots. We were expecting to replace the subfloor. Doug looked at it and said only the underlayment needed replacement. Did the job on time, kept everything clean, and was always very nice to my elderly parents. Price was very reasonable and fair. Couldn't ask for a better experience.

Sunshine Home Maintence
5.0
Despite the disaster, Sunshine's work was timely and welcomed. Furniture was moved.Water extracted and numerous activities to mitigate the damage. When they perform window cleaning they stand behind their work. Basic housekeeping is good/great. As with everything one needs to be specific. They will use your products, if you like. They come to our house in two person teams, occasionally three. Everything is done thoughtfully and management is responsive. No complaints. I began using this company when I had wood floors that were waxed. Sunshine was recommended by the previous homeowner. They did a beautiful job. When I moved and had another finish on those floors, they, also, looked gorgeous.

John's Hardwood Floors
5.0
I used him because there was a woman who did floors and when she retired he took over her business. You don't have to move your furniture or any of that type of stuff. It's just him and a mobile phone. He's over in San Francisco and he comes to the East Bay. He's very good and he also does windows. He did my floor in two phases because I could only use part of the house at a time so it would dry. It looks really nice. He took out all the gray places on the floor and you wouldn't even know that they were there. It's like the ultimate cleaning and waxing job. Doing this is so much cheaper than any other way of maintaining hardwood floors. The quality of the work was really good and he was right on time. His work is very professional and he was really good about working with me on which rooms to do so that I could move things around.

MARY & ERNESTO HOUSECLEANING
5.0
We were having a party on a Saturday and on Thursday realized we needed help getting our fairly large house cleaned on Friday. I called several housecleaning companies, but none were able to make it out on such short notice. Ernesto said they would be able to squeeze us in. We agreed that they wouldn't do the bedrooms or the master bath, since the guests wouldn't be using those rooms. He and Mary arrived on time and went right to work. We have a regular bi-weekly cleaning crew, but E&M dusted where the other team never went, moved furniture when vacuuming, and (even with their tight schedule) agreed to wash our huge sliding glass window for an extra $15 (you don't notice how messy a house is until you're faced with 70 friends coming over). My wife is scent sensitive, so upon my request, E&M used unscented cleaners without fail - except at the end. Much to my surprise, when their time was about up, I came out to smell the overwhelming fumes of ammonia coming from our kitchen! Knowing my wife would be home within the hour, I freaked a little. But Ernesto told me that Mary insisted on stripping our very sad looking kitchen linoleum floor because it had so much dirt and wax buildup - our regular crew always just mop. He also assured me that the ammonia smell would be gone because Mary will use a vinegar rinse of the floor at the end, eliminating all fumes. You should have seen her go at it - working like a woman possessed to bring my floor back from the dead. To my amazement, when she was done, the floor was three shades brighter than I ever remember seeing it and the ammonia smell was completely gone. On top of that, they didn't charge extra, even though I was expecting them to simply mop the floor like the regular crew did. The house looked cleaner than ever, the kitchen floor was amazingly bright, and we realized what a lousy job our regular service has been doing. Consequently, we're dropping the bi-weekly service and we'll be having E&M do our house every three weeks. Yes, they are more expensive than the other crew of 3-4, but E&M do the job right. And that's what we're all looking for, right?

This is the 11th house I have remodeled and it was the absolute worst experience I have had. I hired Tiziano because a designer I know described him as providing high-end work. He doesn't personally do the work and his team are not high-end carpenters. I bought New Ravenna tiles that are extremely expensive. Because of poor craftsmanship we had massive losses, cracked tiles, etc. which cost me nearly double what it should have. He installed the tiles in my master bathroom without consulting the drawings I provided and came up 6" short so instead of ordering more tile he installed wood molding at the ceiling. It looked horrible. I had to buy additional tile and retrofit it. This remains undone as of today - and I started my project in December of 2013. As of yesterday the work is not completed. He left the bathroom masterbath and the half bath incomplete and whenever I call or e-mail to ask him to finish he loses his temper and refuses. He used sealer on the glass tile that gums up and dulls them and it has to be scraped off with a razor blade. I am still scraping tiles. He used sanded grout which the dealer said DO NOT use because it scratches the glass (which it did). As I clean off the tiles with a razor blade I have found some of the tiles still have the plastic wrap on them that they were shipped in. He grouted over the plastic so the grout pulls out as I remove it. The walls beside the tile job aren't painted and there are gaping holes between the tiles and the ceiling where the abut. . He installed a barn door in my half bath and cut the opening too large so there is about 2 inches gap around the door that people can see into when you're going to the bathroom. There is no privacy. I have asked him several times to fix this and he refuses. He actually told me to buy a bigger door. A larger door won't fit in the entryway without bumping into my front door. Besides, he should know how to cut an opening for a barn door - 4" smaller than the door size is standard. He installed 6" baseboard and it was so tall it hit the electric sockets so he notched out the baseboard to accommodate the sockets - this is a total remodel and now it looks like someone installed the wrong baseboard after the fact. He could have used 4" and this wouldn't have happened. He sealed my carrara marble counter top without cleaning it first, sealing in dirt and hairs. The sealant is peeling off in places and the counter top is alternating dull and shiny with scratches everywhere. After installing new light fixtures and doing electrical work, he patched the walls and ceiling, The patches are obvious to the eye - so uneven that you can see waves and undulations in the walls/ceiling when the lights are turned on. There remains a 8" x 4" hole in a wall where he fixed electrical and didn't cover it. He installed hardware on a sliding door incorrectly so it won't lock and the screws were put in crooked and can't be straightened now. In fact, nearly every piece of hardware he installed was done sloppy. Cut outs for door handles were jagged and unfinished. I had to sand and fill them myself. He installed light fixtures (3 switches - huge!) in the center of my mosaic tiles. They could have gone just to the right of the mosaic instead of in the center. It destroyed the mosaic. He installed a 3 switch in the center of my shower wall in the only spot where a towel rack could have gone. He fought with the floor installer. Literally physically fought him. The wood floors have penny width gaps between boards and he didn't clean or finish them so I had to clean them and put the final wax sealant on myself. There are holes in the wood floors that were filled with wax - but they are so large they should have been filled with scraps of wood flooring. He washed grout down my drain and destroyed my garbage disposal and a lot of the plumbing. He did't use end caps on the edges of the wall where the tile stopped - he just smooshed grout on the ends/edges/corners. This grout looks sloppy and it started falling off before he was even finished installing the tiles. I had to have another tiler install the corner/edge trim after the fact. He left the front door ajar in my condo building and a woman walked in the unlocked door and stole some of his tools. All of this is on tape. When I asked him if he would repair the barn door that he installed incorrectly he told me to go "F" myself. No kidding. This man is a lunatic. He installed the shower head sideways so the square plate is twisted 30 degrees to the left and can't be straightened. It looks horrible. The track lighting he installed was attached to the wrong kind of dimmer switches so they buzzed and hummed so loudly it kept me from sleeping. I had to redo the switches myself. He left the plastic covering on the LED light tape that he installed over the cabinets. It got hot and peeled and then the tape fell off the walls so the lights didn't work and I had to clean the walls, reattach the LED light tape, etc. When I moved back into the condo I was stunned at the treatment of my things. He didn't cover my clothing or shoes so they were covered in dust. As of today, nearly 10 months after starting the remodel, the final inspection hasn't happened. He refuses to manage this. He is easily angered. He provided a $58K quote for the project and charged me nearly $80K. He took additional work in the middle of my project and left mine incomplete.
