I’m now a full-time WordPress consultant. Contact me if you need a custom theme, plugin, or other WordPress-related work.
Prior to striking out on my own, I worked for the Texas A&M University Writing Center, the Texas A&M System Offices, and the Texas A&M Health Science Center. I still do consulting work for Texas A&M and other universities and government agencies.
I’m pretty active in the web design community, mostly in CSS, standards, accessibility, WordPress, and higher ed. I was on the programming committee for the HighEdWeb conference from 2006 until 2009. With Shelley Keith, I’m in charge of programming for WPCampus Online.
WordPress Books & Other Work
I’ve written a book, Beginning WordPress 3, published in June 2010 by Apress. The second edition, titled WordPress for Web Developers, came out in 2013. These books are intended to be read by web professionals who are new to WordPress.
My third book, Content Strategy for WordPress, is for site owners of all backgrounds, not just web developers.
I’ve also published over twenty free plugins. Most of my themes have been proprietary client or day-job projects, but I have published a couple of demos from the book.
I publish WordPress tips on a regular basis.
I present at conferences (especially WordCamps) regularly. See all my presentations and interviews.
Other Writing
Oh, yeah, and I write fiction in my copious spare time. In April 2011, I co-hosted Paradise Lost, a Viable Paradise alumni writing workshop, which is now an annual event open to all alumni of professional-level SF writing workshops.
