NOTE

Some features mentioned here may not be available in your region or based on your user role. For more information or if you have any additional questions after reviewing the OpenX Private Marketplaces documentation, visit the OpenX Community.

About Packages

Packages are groups of inventory that buyers want to purchase. Creating packages provides several benefits:

  • Ability to distinguish inventory through logos, descriptions, and domains.
  • Efficient way to communicate pricing.
  • Efficient way to associate desirable inventory with deals.

When creating a package in OpenX’s UI, you must include the Package Name and the Domains within the package. While all other fields are optional, we advise that you also include: Description, Contact Name, Contact Email, Targeting, and Private Marketplace Package Rates.

About Deals

Deals are pre-arranged agreements to sell specific inventory, such as an agreement between a publisher and a demand partner to sell a sports package.

When creating a deal in OpenX’s UI, you must include the following information:

  • Name
  • Deal Type
  • Flight Dates
  • Deal Source
  • Supply Criteria
  • Participants

Generating and Scheduling Reports

You can generate reports to analyze the performance of your deals and packages. A report provides insights into bid activity based on inventory, demand, and deal information.

For questions related to bid performance, reports can answer the following:

  • Is the deal sending bid requests?
  • Is the buyer responding with bids?
  • What is the average CPM at which the buyer is bidding?
  • What buyers/advertisers are buying this deal?

For insights into revenue for the deal, reports can answer the following:

  • What is the overall performance of the deal?
  • What is the gross revenue for the deal?

All reports can be scheduled to run automatically on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis and sent via email to the recipients that you designate.
