    Being able to use block templates on custom post types and page template in the block editor has been a game changer. Learn how to pre-populate certain blocks in the editor, including locking them down with limited flexibility.

    If you ever feel guilty when you are doing admin work such as accounting because you are not doing client work. Don't. Those tasks are just as valuable to your business.

    We've been working on a recruitment multisite build and have wanted to use a flexible colour palette. The solution was an HSL colour input that powers CSS custom properties on the site. Works great for changing the brand colours on hover, etc.

    If you are working with the excellent remember you can registered Facets using PHP, rather than the FacetWP settings page. That way you can keep them under version control. Here is an example 👇

    Whilst working on some sites recently, we needed to allow a placeholder image to be set. This could then be used in different areas of the site that required an image upload to replace it. Here is how I added a media setting for the placeholder ID:

    Currently working on a large recruitment company website build (in fact there are 4 builds) and block patterns are super useful in order to create the page layouts in the block editor. Managed to devise a nice easy method of creating block patterns. 📹 coming soon 👀

    Why, when you create your first menu on a site, does it automatically get populated with the sites pages? And, there is not removing all button. Therefore I have to remove each manually. Annoying.

    Website banner pops up saying "How likely are you to recommend us to your family and friends". Immediately in my head I am thinking "a lot less likely now this banner has gotten in the way of what I wanted to do" 😀

    I have said this for a long time now. Comment all your code folks, you will thank yourself and others will thank you in the future.

    Reviewing some of your old code and not sure why it's there? Pro tip: Once you figure it out, leave a comment explaining why it's there. Future you and other devs will thank you.

    If you look back on code you have written a few years ago and think it is terrible - that is absolutely fine. It means you have improved, which is a good thing.

    Anyone any ideas why my server won't resolve a specific domain via PHP CURL (WP HTTP API)? It works if I make the call from a different server. My server returns error 28 🤔
