I predict that it'll be about a week before I go "Well, this is annoying…" but that's kind of the point. 🤷‍♂️

That thing where you miss the push notification for a work meeting that you knew was on your calendar (and, to be fair, started before your usual start time) so you overengineer a solution to make sure you don't miss future meetings.

On Friday's , we'll be talking about 5.9, naturally. And, based on his tweets about FSE over the past week, will be coming in hot. 😄 How do the rest of us feel? You'll have to tune in to find out!

Naming the 5.9 release after Josephine Baker is a wonderful tribute. However, I'm also lowkey gutted that didn't even seem to consider my suggestion of Lou Bega.

Google killed FLoC! 🎉 Yay! I look forward to inevitably learning how the Topics API is somehow even more sinister than cookies or FLoC re: user privacy.

One of my life's goals has been to learn how to be right and kind at the same time. Social media teaches us to be the exact opposite.

I feel like there was a plugin that places a border around blocks in Gutenberg — which made it easier to pick out the individual components going into a post/page while editing it — but now I can't seem to remember what it was called. 🤔

I will say this until I cannot physically say it anymore: The safest communities are the ones that have the most social resources - education, housing, and healthcare. Not the ones that are over-policed.

Sadly, I do have to use Jira still. But at least I don't have to track my time anymore, so that's nice.

If you think that I'm not going to stare a hole through you after circling the parking lot while you were inside eating/shopping/whatever, you're dead fucking wrong. If you're lucky, I might even yell "That's not what that spot is for." as I drive by and you load into your car.

Curbside pickup is one of my favorite things to come out of this whole stupid pandemic. Well, except when there's two parking spaces dedicated to pickup, and people who aren't doing curbside (and probably said "Oh, here's something right near the front.") are in those spots. 🙃

The only thing that has ever annoyed me more than having to use Jira for work was being forced to track my time on projects in Jira. So glad I don't have to do that shit anymore.

Outside of my warm friendly Twitter circle, most devs I know irl think of themselves and coding as neutral tools. They have no concept of "harm done" and are scornful of the notion. They see people who talk about ethics as weaklings making excuses for not making money.

Me: "I bagged up that denim insulation from the meal kits. 1.5 contractor bags worth! Do you think someone on the local Buy Nothing group would want it?" Sarah: "Just look into recycling it." ::research happens:: Me: "Never mind. We're keeping it." Sarah: "🤨 Why?" Me:
