Installation

  1. Install wpForo Forum plugin in Dashboard > Plugins admin page. Then activate it.
  2. If you have more than 100 users wpForo forum plugin prompts you synchronize users.
  3. Manage Forums in Dashboard > Forums > Forums admin page,
  4. Manage Forum Menu in Dashboard > Appearance > Menu admin page,
  5. Manage Forum Colors in Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Styles admin page, you can choose forum color styles.

FAQ

Forum Page – How to change forum page?

Forum Page – wpForo creates a forum page with /community/ slug. Forum URL can be changed in Dashboard > Forums > Settings > General Tab. Make sure you use WordPress permalinks. wpForo forums don’t work with default ?p=1 URL structure. Forum page only contains [wpforo] forum shortcode.

Forum Menu – How to manage forum menu?

Forum Menu – wpForo forum menu is a regular WordPress menu. In Dashboard > Appearance > Menu admin page wpForo forum creates new navigation menu (forum top menu bar) called “wpForo Navigation (wpForo Menu)”. Forum menu is attached to wpForo Menu location.

Forum Sidebar – Does forum has sidebar and widgets?

Forum Sidebar and Widgets – wpForo forum comes with own right (RTL left) sidebar and widgets (Recent Forum Topics, Recent Forum Posts, Forum Search, Forum Online Users).

Forum Layouts – What is forum layout?

Forum Layouts – wpForo Forums has Forum Layouts and allows to create hybrid forums. wpForo theme has built in multi-layout system. Each forum section (category with forums and subForums) can be displayed with different forum layout.

Forum Manager – How to add / edit/ delete forums?

Forum Manager – You can add new category, forum or subForum in Dashboard > Forums > Forums admin page. The Forum add / Forum edit / Forum Delete / Forum Hierarchy can be managed on the same admin page.

Forum Shortcodes – What shortcodes are available?

Forum Shortcodes – Started from version 1.0.0 you can use wpForo shortcodes.

Forum Styles – How to change forum colors?

Forum Styles – Please navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Styles admin page. Here you can find wpForo forum front-end colors and styles. You can choose forum colors: default (blue), red, green, orange, grey, dark. You can select forum color set or customize each color manually.

Forum Member – How to manage forum members?

Forum Member – Forum Members are the same WordPress users. wpForo forums is fully integrated with WordPress. It comes with own Forum Login and Forum Registration page. Users get an advanced Forum Profile. You can manage all members in Dashboard > Forums > Members admin page.

This is the forum plugin I've been waiting for so much.

I “hate” wpforo because…

Hi, This is the first time I leave some comments here. And the plugin wpForo is the reason. I think, I need to leave some comments here because: 1. wpForo is much better than I expected At the first time, I looked for some Q&A plugin, because I thought, my shared host can’t afford a forum software. Moreover, I need only Q&A function for my website. I had installed a Q&A plugin, but then uninstalled it because my site speed was slowed down. How lucky when I found that wpForo has Q&A function too. 2. wpForo is lightweight I was so nervous during installing wpForo, and thought that I might uninstall it as soon as I had installed it. But how surprised, my site speed remains unchanged. 3. wpForo is “too” perfect This is the reason I “hate” wpForo. Because I have nothing to do with it. Just installed and ran. I am disappointed a little bit. Normally, there should be some things to tune with any new installed plugins. But with wpForo there is nothing to deal with. Everything was already well tuned. Everything is as it should be. Now my wpForo has almost 500 members, and it still runs smoothly. How amazing! But the most thing that satisfied me is: now I have both Q&A Community as well as Forum Community. I believe that there should be more interesting stuffs waiting for me, because my wpForo usage is too short to learn everything about it. Last but not least, thank gVectors Team so much for your wonderful application, and your rich and well-contented documentation about it. I also want to say “thank you very much” for your helpful activities on your own forum that is based on wpForo.

Thank goodness for WPForo! I know that bbpress is built by WordPress people and it's been around for a long time and it's supposed to be the best free forum plugin around, but damn!, it's a beast to use! Especially if you want forums that don't look like they were created at the turn of the century. Fortunately, before I wasted too many more days with bbpress, I came across WPForo. It was like stepping into a whole new (more advanced) century. A few of its benefits and features: Handsome styling Drag-and-drop forum arranging Built-in membership management No need for add-ons to create beautiful, fully functional forums It's free, but you can buy add-ons if you have special needs - I couldn't resist the Emoticons add-on because the pear emojis are irresistible A very neat feature for hiding/showing teaser text Good documentation and a great support forum If you want to put forums on your WordPress site, do yourself a favour and take WPForo for a spin.

I used vBulletin very long time and i was missing it, after i changed to WP. It had so many functions and plugins, but there was no possibilty to work together with WP. Then i found wpforo .. what i can say: "welcome back!" - nice styles, functions and great support. It fits perfectly with WP together. You can choose many plugins like crossposting etc. ... also if you use buddypress or ultimate member. I can recommend it for 100%! (using it now for 6 month)

  • Release Info: This is a not planned release to fix some important conflicts and to add some hooks for WooCommerce Memberships plugin integration.
  • Fixed Bug: We were getting lots of reports about a serious conflict with bbPress plugin. People install wpForo to test it while they still use bbPress. In this case the topic creation doesn’t work. wpForo generates errors once the topic is submitted. This conflict has been fixed with this version.
  • New Addon: wpForo – WooCommerce Memberships Integration. In the meantime we’ve got a request for WooCommerce Memberships integration addon, this addon is also released with wpForo 1.9.9.1 version.

  • If you’re updating from 1.4.2 or lower versions and you have customized wpforo template files in WordPress active theme’s /wpforo/ folder, please remove those before updating. Current wpForo Forum version doesn’t support old template files.
  • After wpForo update, if you see a message “wpForo – Update Database”. Please click on [Update Database] button to complete update process. This is a data synchronization action, it doesn’t delete forum data.
  • If you have a Cache Plugin, please delete all caches after wpForo update.
  • If you use CDN and found some issue please purge it.
  • If you see style issues after update, please refresh forum page twice or do Ctrl+F5 on forum front-end to load new styles.
  • If you have wpForo addons, please update them right after wpForo forum update. Don’t update them before wpForo forum update.
