Description

The Stripe Payments plugin allows you to accept credit card payments via Stripe payment gateway on your WordPress site easily.

It has a simple shortcode that lets you put Stripe “Buy Now” buttons anywhere on your site for a product or service. You can accept donation via Stripe also.

One click payment via Stripe with a remember me feature. Responsive design so it is compatible with all devices and browsers.

Your customers will be redirected to the “Checkout Result” page after the credit card payment. This page shows them the details of the transaction (the item that they just paid for).

The transaction info is also captured in the orders menu of the plugin. You can view all the payments you received from your WordPress admin dashboard.

The setup is very easy. Once you have installed the plugin, all you need to do is enter your Stripe API credentials in the plugin settings and your website will be ready to accept credit card payments.

You can run it in test mode by specifying test API keys in the plugin settings.

Shortcode Parameters/Attributes

There are two ways you can use this plugin to create a “Buy Now” or “Pay” button to accept payment.

Option 1) Create a product in the admin dashboard of this plugin then use a shortcode to put a buy button for that product.

Installation

Using The WordPress Dashboard

  1. Navigate to “Plugins->Add New” from your dashboard
  2. Search for ‘stripe payments’
  3. Click ‘Install Now’
  4. Activate the plugin

Uploading via WordPress Dashboard

  1. Navigate to the “Add New” in the plugins dashboard
  2. Navigate to the “Upload” area
  3. Select stripe-payments.zip from your computer
  4. Click “Install Now”
  5. Activate the plugin in the Plugin dashboard

Using FTP

  1. Download stripe-payments.zip
  2. Extract the stripe-payments directory on your computer
  3. Upload the stripe-payments directory to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  4. Activate it from the Plugins dashboard

FAQ

Can I have multiple payment buttons on a single page?

Yes, you can have any number of buttons on a single page.

Can I use it in a WordPress Widgets?

Yes, you can.

Can I specify quantity of the item?

Yes, you can configure it in the product configuration interface.

Can I change the button label?

Yes, you can specify the “button_text” attribute in the shortcode to customize it.

Will the customers receive an email after purchase?

Yes, you can configure the email settings options in the settings menu of the plugin.

Is it possible to get notified if payment failed for some reason?

Yes. Go to Stripe Payments > Settings, Email Settings tab and check “Send Email On Payment Failure” option.

Can It be tested before going live?

Yes, please visit Stripe Payments > Settings screen for options.

This plugin has a lot of bugs. Support is terrible. Beware!

Wow! Impressed with simplicity yet functionality

Very simple to implement things for sale. If you've been confused by Woocommerce, WP Eassycat, or other e-commerce plugins then this is the one for you. I you only have a few items to sell, whether they are products, services or events... you should certainly give this plugin a try. I've been using it on clients websites to process payments via Stripe for the last year or two and it's been working great. Very simple setup and effective compared to other plugins I've tried. Give it a go.

The plug-in itself worked fine. It's not amazing but does work and it did not cost anything for our non-profit to set up a donation page to our Stripe account. However, at some point our donation page was targeted by a script-kiddie out there that hammered the page with credit card attempts. In this scenario, someone with a list of credit card numbers would just try them on your site until one went through to figure which were usable and then go use that one. We did not want our site used that way though so we removed the donation button from the page. I was surprised half a day later when the attempts resumed even though the page no longer had the donation button. Somehow the form I had created in the plugin settings was still able to be posted to even though the button had been removed from the donation page. I'm not sure how that was possible. I'm not sure if it's a flaw in the plug-in or deeper in WordPress. But to stop this misuse of our site I had to remove the plug-in completely. All in all there were close to 2,000 credit card attempts made on our site that day in just a few minutes total. Edit: The developer reached out and pointed out their built-in recaptcha support. I re-enabled the plugin and turned that on. Kudos for their prompt help!

Careful with international currency exchange

I see that this plugin doesnt allow you to remove or have the option to just charge in one currency. This is a problem for a business, since the user can actually choose to pay in a currency that is way bellow your business currency. This will explain. If you sell a package of candy at 10 dls and the user chooses to pay you in mexican pesos, it means that you will get 10 mexican pesos. This is bad since 10 pesos is then than 1 dollar. So do the math, you will get 1 dollar for a 10 dlr product. Just be aware of this. Im sure the other functions of the plugin are amazing. Just this is something to be aware of. No exchange currency updates. No option to charge in the currency of your choice so you get your money and no way to remove the option for a user to pick their currency.
