  • For some reason, even though I’ve disabled comments requiring email, my comments section still has an asterisk next to an email bar as if it’s enabled. I’ve tested it to see if it was still active, but I was able to leave comments as a normal user just fine.

Another issue is the comments section being absent when creating/editing a post.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    THEME COFFEE MONKEY

    Hi there!

I’m curious if that happens with all plugins deactivated and using a theme like Twenty Twenty. IF that removes the asterisk then it could be the theme or a plugin. I’m leaning more towards theme side as that is what will often style the front-end.

Let us know if that helps in figuring out what is causing that for you.

My theme is Comicpress, and I’m worried if that’ll damage anything. I can’t exactly backup my site either. Maybe something in the code that can be altered?

I did a live preview of another theme, and that option wasn’t there. So most likely it’s Comicpress’ theme. Again, maybe a siple coding change could fix this problem?

Hi @dyrga10 When you have disabled comment requiring email option, kindly purge and clear cache before revisiting to verify if the changes have been made. Or, would you let me know what URL you’re having this issue with?
