urgently needed links on plugin page

Please add a link to each installed plugin on the "Manage Plugins" page pointing to the corresponding WordPress Plugin Directory entry. That way the user will have quick access to the documentation (regardless of the state of the author's personal site) and it will improve voting for stars and compatibiltiy. I have been missing this ever since I use WP!

So what about plugins that aren't hosted on wp.org?

Nothing would change for those plugins - they would only have the link to their home page as they do now.

Yep, I agree - for WP hosted plugins, the link should always point to the WP page, where all the basic info is and where the linked forum threads are.

Thanks for your support codeispoetry. It would also be quite ok to have two links, one for the author's plugin page and one for the WordPress Plugin Directory, but IMHO the Directory link should always be given higher priority for said reasons.

You guys have done a marvelous job with the WP3. I love it!

However I am somewhat disappointed to discover that WP 3.0 RC3 does not contain the feature discussed here. Wouldn't it be very easy to implement? After all it is just a link.

Here is why I think this feature is so important:
I install a plugin, read through the instructions via the Detail link, install it, start using it - and need to read through the instructions again because I can't remember everything. But they are now very hard to find. There is no link any more.

This is why I suggested to include the link to that information, which is obviously stored in the WordPress Plugin Directory.

I believe this is a serious oversight which is so easy to fix.

I don't think the wp one should be given higher precedence - After the redesign of my site I will want users to be channeled through it rather than the wp.org directory as it will offer lots of features that the wp.org doesn't - nicer documentation (tabs etc.) Suggest a feature to name a few.
