  The technician told me that my 12-year-old AC is out of refrigerant. That part is true. It uses R22 which is no longer legal to be manufactured or imported in the US -- that is also true. However he told me that it is not possible to buy that refrigerant from the market nor to refill it, because it is sealed. I did not know much about air conditioning so I did not question his statement. But now I know what he said is not true, after doing just a little bit research. I needed to do some research because the price tag he quoted me for installing a completely new AC + furnace + duct, at $15,000 - $20,000, is quite impractical for me. I'm getting other people to come and take a look at the system to see if it can be repaired. And at least one quote that I got put it at $2,500, for refilling the AC with the refrigerant, fixing the leak, repairing the furnace if it needs to be done, and repairing the duct. The furnace was in perfectly good shape, and does not need to be replaced. The duct just needs to be patched up and also does not need to be replaced. I understand that everyone needs to make a living. But I don't believe that everyone needs to get rich, especially at the cost of others. The representatives that I worked with at ASI 10, 12 years ago were fine people. I'm saddened to see the newer generation not being trained to put customers first. I'm saddened to see that, in a more charitable light, they are not mentored well, in a more abrasive perspective, they are incentivized to be dishonest. I'm not writing the negative review to vent or to damage the company. Rather I'm hoping that this may serve to help the company go back to its roots: putting customers first. When I bought the very unit that needs repair from ASI, the technician looked for ways to help me cut cost, doing extra work so that it would introduce the least number of holes they'd have to drill through the dry wall. He's not paid extra for doing that -- it's just a decent and nice thing to do. That kind of workmanship goes beyond customer satisfaction; it sets the company apart, not just in the crowded HVAC field, but in the community where we live. It is witness to the miracle that you can carry on a business, an honest business, and make a decent profit, without twisting your moral compass and jeopardizing your standard. It is not just that I want to be able to work with people like that -- I want my children to be able to grow up and still be able to work with people like that

  I absolutely recommend Alanis Air to my friends and neighbors. They are a local, family-owned, family-centric business that knows their stuff. Tony did a great job eying out our 1961 Clairemont house and gave us an all-inclusive price. Their competitors would have charged an extra change-order to replace the 60 year old ducts for sure. Two days after shaking hands, the installers replaced our heater, added the new A/C unit, replaced the air ducts and fixtures, and connected it all to our Nest all in one day. They even scheduled on a Saturday, to not interrupt our work-from-home and school-from-home schedules, were extremely courteous, cleaned up as the job went on, and wore masks the whole time. It could not have been very comfortable to wear a mask up there in our tiny crawlspace! When it got warm the next weekend and the A/C magically kicked in... bliss. THANK YOU Team Alanis!!

  Yesterday (7/7/2021), I checked Angi for a service to repair leaking water from one toilet on the second floor. Angi offered a pre-paid flat fee of $192 for the service. However, Angi's APP had problem to go through the booking. Hence I used Angi to recommend professionals. Anderson was one of the four (4) Angi recommended. And Anderson was the first to contact me very nicely. When I asked a price range for the service and mentioned Angi's flat fee, Anderson person told me that they were aware of it and they would not go beyond average price one can find on Angi, and they will provide the first class trustworthy service. However they do have 2 upfront charges regardless if they will provide service or not if they come to assess work: trip charge of $46 and checking charge of $20. Trusting their words of beating average price I chose Anderson to allow them to come to do the job and turned down others when I was called. However, upon arrival this morning, Anderson told me the cost will be $512 !!!!! To just replace a wax ring !!!!! I told Anderson person about what I was told the day before and asked they re-consider the price hopefully not too far off what they said, although I expected to pay somewhat higher than Angi's price. With several tries, Anderson finally insisted the price to be $438!!! And $438 only traded a wax ring and 30 minutes work!!! The service person was a young guy friendly and nice. However, Anderson's dishonesty not honoring what they said before I decide to choose them made me uncomfortable. I DO NOT RECOMMEND to consider for service from Anderson Plumbing & Heating Air unless they provide written cost before service is done without upfront charges as such charges are basically to hook up you to their hidden brutally high unreasonable price!!!!!!! I just had submitted a review intended for this Anderson. However, that review might have been addressed to a different entity with same name Anderson. If you see it, please discard!!!! And this Anderson is the one I am writing review to share!!! Precaution is needed!!!

A couple months later we asked for a service call to help us better balance the air flow by installing a new controller board and adjusting the electronic dampers. Our experience as likewise excellent: Christian is a fantastic professional, fine communicator and spectacular representative of Triton Air. Today he completed the replacement of our Honeywell controller board installed in FEB 2021 with a Harmony 3 board, to facilitate better control of fan speed and air volume in each zone. Christian REALLY cares and dedicated his time to ensure a full understanding of our needs and a complete adjustment of system controls to perfectly accomplish our needs!
