Vlastnosti

Polylang Vám umožní vytvořit vícejazykové webové stránky ve WordPressu. Napíšete články a stránky, vytvoříte kategorie a tagy jako obvykle a následně nadefinujete jazyky pro každý z nich. Překlady článků, ať už ve výchozím nebo jiném jazyce, jsou nepovinné.

  • Můžete použít tolik jazyků, kolik chcete. Jazykové skripty RTL (Zprava do leva) jsou podporovány. Jazykové balíčky WordPressu jsou automaticky staženy a aktualizovány.
  • Můžete přeložit příspěvky, stránky, média, kategorie, tagy, menu, widgety…
  • Jsou podporovány vlastní typy příspěvků, vlastní taxonomie, připnuté příspěvky a formáty příspěvků, RSS kanály a všechny výchozí widgety WordPressu.
  • Jazyk je zvolen buď pomocí obsahu nebo kódem jazyku v url, případně můžete použít různé subdomény nebo domény pro každý jazyk.
  • Kategorie, tagy příspěvků a některé další vlastnosti jsou automaticky kopírovány během přidávání nového překladu příspěvku nebo stránky.
  • Upravitelný přepínač jazyků je poskytnut jako widget nebo v navigačním menu

Autoři neposkytují podporu na fóru wordpress.org. Podpora a extra funkce jsou dostupné uživatelům Polylang Pro.

Pokud chcete použít profesionální nebo automatické překladatelské služby, můžete nainstalovat Lingotek Translation, jako doplněk pro Polylang. Lingotek nabízí kompletní systém pro správu překladů obsahující například znovupoužití dřívějších překladů (Translation memory) nebo poloautomatický proces (tzn. strojový překlad, lidský překlad a korektura).

Instalace

  1. Ujistěte se, že používáte WordPress 5.1 nebo pozdější a že Váš server běží na PHP verzi 5.6 nebo vyšší (stejné požadavky jako má sám WordPress).
  2. Pokud jste vyzkoušeli jiné vícejazykové doplňky, deaktivujte je předtím než aktivujete Polylang. Jinak může nastat nepředvídatelné chování doplňků.
  3. Nainstalujte a aktivujte doplněk jako obvykle z menu „Pluginy“ ve WordPressu.
  4. Běžte na stránku nastavení jazyků a vytvořte jazyky, které potřebujete
  5. Přidejte widget „přepínač jazyků“ abyste umožnili návštěvníkům změnit jazyk.
  6. Berte na vědomí, že Vaše šablona musí obsahovat patřičné .mo soubory (Polylang je automaticky stáhne pokud jsou pro šablony a doplňky k dispozici v repositáři). Pokud Vaše šablona není přeložena, podívejte se do Příručky Šablon nebo požádejte autora šablony o překlad.

Incompatibility with wp 5.8 upgrade

If you upgrade your site from a wordpress version older than 5.8 you can lost all your widgets, as the language selector is not available for free version of this plugin in the new block widget editor.

It is easy to use and works great for posts and pages. It's not always working great with frontpage and/or other widget areas. It often translate sme parts of the widget, but not everything. My website is in Dutch and I use Polylang to translate it to English, but then there are still small parts in the sidebar, footer or front page that will stay Dutch, which looks a bit unprofessional. But I use the free version, and it's working great for the blogs and pages on my website. And also works good with Complianz, my portfolio and most of the other plugins I'm using.
