    General FAQ

    The PowerBank is only compatible with the VanMoof S3 & X3. To use the PowerBank, you need to update the firmware to version 1.6.8 or higher. 

    You unfortunately cannot use the PowerBank with the Electrified S2 & X2 or older VanMoof models as the electronics are not compatible.

    The PowerBank is not a substitute for your bike's battery, as its function is to charge your bike's main battery. This means it’s not possible to use the PowerBank as a direct power source when your main battery is empty. You can ride your bike with the PowerBank plugged in, but the motor will only kick in when the PowerBank has recharged the main battery to about 5%.

    The Lock Dock is only there to prevent the PowerBank from being pulled away whilst your bike is parked. For long term security (i.e. overnight) we advise you to bring the PowerBank inside.

    The PowerBank can be installed to your frame with the Lock Dock. Follow the instructions in the video or manual here. Please keep in mind that the instructions for the VanMoof S3 are slightly different to the VanMoof X3. Make sure that your bike is updated to firmware (version 1.6.8 or higher) and VanMoof app version (iOS: 3.11 or higher, Android: 5.10 or higher).
